Clearly the BEST
by Mikelstky at Citysearch
I have been to several salon in Orlando since I moved here and finally I found a place better then the salon I went to back home. It is very hip, yet, not snobby and I have never felt out of place or had less then stellar service. Every time I've been in for a haircut the place is hopping. I have been to several hairdresser in there and never left unhappy. I orginally wanted to get an appointment with the owner, Scott, but he was booked till October. {So I have been seeing anyone till my Oct Appnt}
- Pros: price is good for the service and level of salon
- Cons: hard to get an appointment if walking in
Great Hair - Management is a horror show
by grammystrudels at Citysearch
Salon is moving to new area to attract more professional clientele. Also, current clients can't afford their prices or their products. Salon reminds me of "Big Brother is Watching You." Management are control freaks.
- Pros: Wonderful Stylists
- Cons: Salon is revenue obsessed!
Alan is a miracle worker with hair!!
by redpersiankitty at Citysearch
When you go to the Cut and Color Room you are greeted by the best receptionist in the world. I used to dread haircuts because of snooty salons, overrated stylists, high prices, horrible haircuts, until I found the Cut and Color Room. If you are not getting your hair cut by Alan then your hair is not looking its best. He is hands down the most talented hair stylist in the world. I have never been to a hair salon more than three times and I have been going to Alan for almost 2 years now! Just to give you an idea of how good he is; my last style lasted 4 months! People ask me all the time if I work for this salon because I talk about it everywhere I go; but I don't. I am a real estate agent who is in front of people all the time so I have to look my best. Thank you so much Alan for being my hair stylist and giving me one less thing to worry about in my life! Love you bunches, JM
- Pros: Alan is amazing, the atmosphere, the receptionist
- Cons: None
THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!
by atljodi at Citysearch
Ask anyone and they will tell you I am absolutely the pickiest person in the world about my hair. I have been to many salons in the Orlando area and have been disappointed time after time. I have been to many salons that are rated very high here on citysearch and have been disappointed with all of them. I found the Cut and Color Room by doing months of research online but didn't want to take anymore chances so I took my son there to have his hair cut first. My son is just as picky! While he was having his hair cut I asked a few customers with curly hair who does there hair. They told me Alan. I still wasn't brave enough so I talked another friend of mine in to going to see Alan. After her appointment she called me and couldn't believe how awesome her hair cut and color was. I decided that it was finally time for me to go. I told Alan how scared I was and for the first time in my life a hair stylist finally listened. Before he cut my hair he told me what he was going to do. When he was finished I could not believe what I saw. My hair was exactly like I had always envisioned. I moved away back in January to Atlanta and even drove down to Orlando in April just so Alan could cut my hair. I have since moved back to Orlando just to be close to Alan so he could cut my hair. I went today to get my hair cut and I am just amazed that after four times to the salon to see Alan I am still impressed. I have never been to a salon four times!!! The most was twice. Please save yourself any more disappointments and go see Alan. He won't cut your hair off if you have long hair and if you have curly hair he knows how to cut it!!! Alan, if you read these reviews, thank you for giving me my confidence back.
- Pros: Awesome staff, Highly skilled, and the wine is great!
- Cons: Alan is an hour away from me!
Bridal Updon't
by ohsyzygy at Citysearch
My daughter made appointments for herself, 5 of her Bridesmaids' updo's, the Groom's mom, the Flower Girl and me to have our hair done for her wedding. Every Bridesmaid got a ponytail, either at the side or in back, which was curled with a hotcurler ($75). The Groom's mom looked like she had a jerry curl done. The Flower Girl had a French braid that was lopsided. This was after the Bride and I had cuts and color done twice for a practice. Total bill with tips was about $1500. Everyone was sprayed stiff. And except for the Bride (thank you Jesus) everyone was really upset. No one complained because we didn't want to upset the Bride 2 hr before her wedding. Really disappointing.

Bad start++++ Excellent finish

I let a friend in beauty school color my hair and it was a disaster. After calling in to work sick, I walked into the salon in tears. The lady at the desk was super sweet and got me right in to see a stylist Virginia who had just started working there. We talked about my hair and she had to remove the color from my hair and recolor it. Once she got the hair color out my hair was bright orange and I freaked out!
Two guys working next to her jumped in to help calm me down and they all talked thru my color and came up with a game plan. Virginia mixed up a color and within 45 mins my hair was a natural warm brown. I appologized for freaking out and was even more relieved when I left and the bill was under $150 and my hair felt wonderful.
Virginia was very sweet, a little quite, but she made me feel/ look great. I will only let her do my hair from now on.
- Pros: Virginia Scott and Alan were God Sent
- Cons: expensive products but I love them
Charlotte saved my Hair
by ginashoeman at Citysearch
Everyone in my office goes to this salon so I thought I would give it a try, and I have never loved my hair this much before. Charlotte did a conditioning treatment that made my hair shiny and soft, then got my hair color even from top to bottom. Now my WHOLE office has great hair!
- Pros: good receptionist, friendly staff, clean and beautiful salon
- Cons: had to wait a week for an appointment
Kelli, where are you?
by miriamh at Citysearch
I went to Cut and Color Room and unfortunately I was placed with a guy called Steve who totally messed up my hair. I was upset at the salon for suggesting him, as I had specifically asked for the best colorist and stylist and despite his past experience, he had only been at this salon for two months!
Nevertheless, he is gone, which can only be a good thing for the salon, as they were all very nice people.
I read that Kelli (an ex employee) had moved to The Fountains Salon on Sandlake Road, so I went there and she was an excellent choice for both me and my daughter.
She left this week and I have no idea where to find her.
If anyone knows how to contact her, please put up a post? Kelli - where are you?
- Pros: Steve is gone!
- Cons: Steve!
I found REBECCA KNIGHT! I'm sooooo excited!
by jmarieski at Citysearch
When I first came to the cut and color room I was referred by a friend to Rebecca Knight. My hair was a disaster. I needed a color correction. Rebecca really listened and fixed the many issues that I had going on in my hair. I had a great experience at the cut and color room and loved the atmosphere. When I called to book my next appt I was told that Rebecca was no longer employed at the cut and color room. With much research I finally found her!!! She is now in Winter Garden @ Ultima Salon. I just wanted to write this review incase anyone else was looking for Rebecca like I was.
