Fantastic Food, Service, and Entertainment!

Vines Grille & Wine Bar ~ One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The presentation and taste of the food was great. This restaurant has a true variety from steak to seafood and is definitely high quality. The service was great as well. The staff are warm and friendly, and what I would like to call "Johnny on the Spot." This restaurant is all about having a good time, and the staff are there to make sure that you do! The entertainment was also good, especially if you enjoy jazz and blues. Again, this was a great dining experience and one that eveyone should go and experience.
- Pros: Great atmoshphere

Awful Jazz Band noise
by tscovill at Citysearch
What a shame. Such good food but drowned out by the mediocre jazz band. Do I really want to hear a drum solo while I'm enjoying an excellent glass of wine and a succulant steak. Wouldn't I rather share in some good conversation with my dining companions, if for no other reason than to share comments on the food. It is absolutely impossible to carry on a conversation even in the back room.
A jazz pianist would suffice or unplug them, but really, a drum solo, c'mon. You would have had at least another $100 in deserts and after dinner drinks were it not for the 'noise". This is an affront to the chef and the waitstaff.
- Pros: good food
- Cons: Lousy ambience, jazz or food. don't ruin the food with the loud j
Disappointment

My wife and I went to Vines anticipating a romantic night out, with Jazz, great food, and excellent service. What we received was far from that. We were seated at a cocktail table right next to the drummer, and the staff refused to move us to an available booth, even though we had reservations. It just went downhill from there. The service was awful, we had to get our own silverware from another table, as we could not find someone to help us. The food was not prepared as requested, and when brought to the attention of the staff they did little to address the issue. In short this was one of the worst dinning exp's we have ever had and we truely are not difficult people to make happy.
- Pros: Good music, available parking
- Cons: Bad service, Food over priced, Bad service

As an orlando native, I know how difficult it is to find a restraunt worth it's salt in our chain restaurant infested city. From the steaks that rival any Chicago steakhouse, to the innovative seafood entrees, Vines has scored a perfect ten with me everytime I visit. Their wine list is second to none, and their staff is quick to guide you through it in a friendly, non-pretentious manner. Whether you are looking for a once in a lifetime Lafite, or a small vineyard jewel, you are sure to find it at Vines. For myself, the live jazz is icing on the cake. Each visit is a new experience that makes me never want to leave. I recommend locals and visitors alike discover Vines, Orlando's culinary treasure.
- Pros: Wine, Food, Jazz
A cool place in town
by latifatoun at Citysearch
I've been going to Vines for a year now and I would'nt change it for any other place. they have great music with live band, the customer service of the staff is wonderful and mgt could'nt be better. It's a freindly atmosphere and the selection of wines could'nt be wider.
I just love it and every time I have freinds in town I take them there.
- Pros: good parking
Easy going sophistication
by cabernet99 at Citysearch
This is the most friendly place in town. Food is great without any pretentions (like some restaurants in the vicinity that think they serve something new). The band is awsome, people are diverse, sophisticated but not pretentious. Most importantly the staff and management know about food, wine and hospitality while being friendly and ready to accomodate you and your friends even without reservation (not recommended).
- Pros: ambiance, steaks, parking
DON'T GO THERE!
by nhelyer at Citysearch
Worst dining experience in 15 years. The service and management quality of this restaurant makes the worst Denny's look like service utopia. Many entrees are around $40, so for Orlando, it's high priced. That can be OK though, if the experience matches the pricing. We had a table of 8 - all evening, everyone had to aggressively flag down wait staff for replacement drinks. 2 entrees were delivered wrong, which is OK in principle. But no wait staff or management came to the table for the next 20 minutes - those with food had completely finished, and still nothing from wait staff or management. Eventually, I had to go searching for the manager, who became immediately argumentative. It goes on and on. So - if you don't fancy the feelings that come with very high prices and the worst service in the catering industry, DON'T GO THERE.
Excellent!!

I must say that the dr phillips resident who previously reviewed, obviously doesn't recognize a great restaurant when he sees one. My wife and I have been loyal supporters of Vines Grille & Wine Bar since the beginning. The courtesy that the mgmt and staff have shown us over the past year and half, has been usurpassed by any other. It is like our "Cheers" of the Dr Phillips area.
- Pros: Atmosphere, Wine Selection, Live Jazz
We really want to like Vines but ...
by dr.phillipsresident at Citysearch
... it's overpriced and the food doesn't deliver. We've been there several times since its opening to give this local restaurant/jazz club a chance to prove itself, and it's been a disappointment. Overall, the food is amateurish. Recently, the menu was strewn with typos, which further suggests there are amateurs behind the scenes and in the kitchen. The live jazz may be entertaining for conventioneers but for local jazz enthusiasts who enjoy (and long for) live jazz, the Louis Armstrong shtick gets old quickly. Those musicians sell themselves short.
We implore Vines to decide what it wants to be: a place for tourists to yuk it up on an expense account or a serious restaurant and jazz club frequented by locals and visitors alike for quality food and live jazz. We are rooting for Vines because they have a great idea but the execution leaves much to be desired.
- Pros: Parking
