DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

by jennyh500 at Citysearch

I ate here this past weekend when I was in town with my fiancee his employee and his wife for a convention. Not only did we all have stomach aches after we ate here but I was sick all night and haven't been that sick in a long time!! Not only was I sick but the food was absolutly horrible! My duck was fatty and raw! You would think that with Emeril having such a reputation for himself that he would check on his restaurants!

Good food and service but steaks not cooked to order and problem not corrected...

by scottmichael2 at Citysearch

First of all, we went at lunch time when it wasn't busy at all (there were only 2 tables occupied - ours being one of them). The service was excellent from start to finish (including being very jovial with the kids). The food was very good and moderately portioned. I felt like the lunch prices were a bit steep, but we sort of expected that. If it weren't for the prices, we would definitely go back.

Now, the bad...

My son ordered his steak rare. It arrived medium rare (at best). I sent it back and a couple minutes later the waiter came back (with the steak cut in two) and said that the cook said that it was rare and that we just hadn't cut deep enough into the meat. This was absolutely false. The meat was not rare at all. It was medium rare to medium. I gave up the fight and said okay. Truthfully, I should have asked for a manager and I regret not having done so (especially for the price that we paid for that steak). By the way, I ordered my steak medium rare, and it arrived medium.

At any rate, for someone like me who can't afford such extravagances very often, I seriously doubt I'll ever go back. To me it wasn't worth the $150 (for lunch) that I "dished" out. I'm only giving a 7 rating for three reasons: high prices for lunch, a steak not cooked to order, and the problem not being properly addressed. Otherwise, the score would have been 9 or 10.

  • Pros: Ambience, Service, Food
  • Cons: Steak not cooked to order and cook refused to correct, lunch prices

organized chaos

by mortgagegirl02 at Citysearch

This restaurant is hard to find? if you self-park?which I won?t recommend. Literally walking 10 miles before passing through what seemed like an eternity clad banquet or hallway; we finally made it to the entrance of the place. What a beautiful restaurant so peaceful yet uninviting. The stark and cold restaurant is barely lit by the kitchen and the seating arrangement feels like organized chaos. The disheveled staff aligns the back of the wall almost fighting to leap at you in anticipation of them replenishing your glass or to remove plates. When there is nothing for the wait staff to do, they wander aimlessly and confused. The food was strange! To me, the offerings at the start of the meal selection were hard to describe except that when placed on your tongue, they pop loudly in your mouth. I did not like my dish, it was too unorthodox with over embellished flavors. However, my sister is more ethnically diverse when it comes to cultural food and she absolutely loved it. It was her birthday celebration and the chef was nice enough to give her a dessert on the house which was classy. I think the restaurant menu, drinks, and wait staff ? need a serious overhaul.

  • Pros: decor
  • Cons: parking, service, price, taste, poor menu selection

OUTSTANDING ... AMAZING ... WONDERFUL

by chinookarmywife at Citysearch

My husband and I went to the Tchoup chop on October 5th for our 10 year anniversay. We almost didnt go after reading the reviews on this page but boy am i glad i didnt let someone elses judgement make my decision for me. By far this was the BEST meal i have ever had. The wait staff was spectacular and not pushy at all. The cook even sent out a special appetizer to congratulate us. Thank you all at Emerils for the most amazing night.

  • Pros: EVERYTHING
  • Cons: It had to end.

Good Service - Almost Too Good.

by sancho415 at Citysearch

I hate to sound like a whiny food critic, but the service here was actually too good. We had 2 waiters and 2 servers. They often kept asking us the same things over and over. After a while, it was like, "Enough already. Leave us alone." That aside, the entire experience was amazing. The food was superb and yes, it was expensive. You definitely pay for the service here. They also have a great selection of Sake. The design of the room is breathtaking. Whoever did the design concept of the restaurant should get an Oscar. If you're on vacation in Orlando and want to splurge on someone special, take them here. But, make sure to call ahead a couple weeks and make a reservation.

  • Pros: Excellent service, beautiful design and wonderful food.
  • Cons: Hella expensive! And the waiters like to push the pricey stuff on you.

very dissappointed

by kjt at Citysearch

We had gone to Emeril's at Citywalk so we were expecting great food... what we got was very dissappointing. The food was overspiced and way overpriced. I can't believe Emeril puts his name on this place. The meat and fish didn't even seem to be quality, I could've gotten better at the grocery store. There are hundreds of better restaurants in Orlando, and you won't have to shell out $100.

  • Pros: nice decor
  • Cons: bad food, overpriced

Emeril Lagasse combines exotic South Seas flavors with a touch of jazz in this luxurious resort restaurant.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Lagasse's second Orlando outpost is hidden in the depths of family-friendly Royal Pacific resort and made up like a lush cavern. A very long, gurgling lily pond surrounded by low booths runs through the center. Subdued strains of Dixie jazz are juxtaposed with the nouveau tiki decor to create an unmistakable atmosphere.

The Food
The kitchen tweaks a number of Pacific Rim standards (crispy whole fish, pork variations), adding enough sides to turn most dishes into platters. Starters such as Polynesian crab cakes with ginger-scallion and papaya salsa appetizers deftly blend mildly sweet seafood and spiced fruit. The wok produces at least two successes--snapper with Asian pesto and Gulf shrimp and smoked ham-vegetable-noodle combo. The famous banana-cream pie slice is rich, piled high with fruit and large enough for two people.
