JOHN MICHAEL
by hcaraballo
Don't ever let him cut your hair! I went in and asked for my hair to be angled, short in the back, long in the front...well, it turned out long in the back and short in the front. I was in a hurry and went back to work and finally called the salon after contemplating what to do and John Michael would not fix my hair for 2 days. I asked if anyone could fix it and they told me to come in and someone would fix it. I came back and a lady named My tried to fix it but there wasn't much she could do because it is now so short in the front. She tried to make it shorter in the back but not by much, she suggested that I let it grow out in the front. I will never in my life go back there and I feel like I should put a bag over my head. Terrible... When she was showing me the back after she finished, I asked if there was any way that she could make the back layers shorter and she kind of giggled and looked at John Michael. I was so embarassed. They made me feel like it was my fault.
- Cons: AWFUL
Best hair extensions in Orlando
by CSMobileUser
All I have to say is I have found my dream place. I have had do many bad experiences with glue hair extensions and my hair was so damaged but at Shala Salon they use a new method called bead extensions which doesn't damage my hair at all and best yet I can maintain them. I go in about once a month and Nima (owners son) pulls them up to the root for me and it feels like a brand new set. He is so detailed and patient that amazes me. I have had mine for the last two years. I give them five stars :)
A peace of heaven! What an experience! Ahhh :)

I had a princess package and ohh mine! it was delightful. I wish I could do that everyday! :) The pedicure lady (Ann) was amazing she put me to sleep. Their pedicures are no joke one full hour of foot massage and pampering. Don't get me started on the massage! You gotta check it out for yourself. I'll be back again...
- Pros: friendly staff, calm enviorment, quality service
- Cons: too far away from me
loved every minute!!
by lshannon
i recently moved to the area and tried this salon and i absolutely loved it! it's a very upscale salon and the staff really knows their color! i've been to so many other salons and never could get the cut and color i wanted until i tried this place. I would highly recommend this salon!
- Pros: environment, staff, location
Overpriced and bad customer service salon
by 03301982
This salon had the worse customer service I ever received. Do not get extensions there. They lie to you and say it lasts two years but that is not true. Then they make you feel guilty as if it was your fault that the extensions are falling. And when I say they make you feel guilty, I mean: "I have never seen such badly treated extensions." Watch out for the owners' son: he likes to flirt with yong girls. So unprofessional. Also, they only pamper and treat well they customers they know are rich. So, one could argue they are a prejudiced salon. I will not go back at all.
- Pros: good products
- Cons: customer service
Best Hair Salon on Sand Lake
by laurenkeasoren
I've been going to Shala's for about 3 years to get my hair cut and colored and I've never had a bad experience. It might be a tad overpriced but it's worth the job they do. I've had to switch stylists within the salon before because my regular left, and I haven't had a bad experience with them so far once. Great place to buy products also and they really do make you feel comfortable. Definetly highly recommend going!!!
- Pros: atmosphere, stylists, level of work
- Cons: small space but isn't that big of a problem
AVOID AVOID AVOID
by kahleesaleena
The website makes this salon and spa look upscale. Believe me, IT IS NOT! The business is small and unkempt looking. There is only one massage therapist and you have to walk through the noisy salon with hair all over the floor to get to the "spa". Worst of all, I got THE WORST haircut ever in my life. When I complained I was told that's what I asked for and tough luck. It was NOT what I wanted. I even showed the guy (CARL) pictures of how I wanted the haircut to look, front and back, and he still managed to screw it up. One side in the front is longer than the other and the back is completely uneven and he took a huge chunk out of one side! Because he couldn't get it even it's way shorter than the pictures I showed. My options are now to wait until it grows out a little to fix it, or cut off even more hair.
Miserable experience. Avoid at all costs.
- Pros: Not One Pro. At All.
- Cons: EVERYTHING.
AWEFUL SERVICE!!!
by cbesset
Quite possibly the worst service I have ever had. WATCH OUT FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES THAT THEY DO NOT TELL YOU ABOUT!!! When I inquired about the extra charges I was told "too bad!" Extremely expensive, way overpriced.
I will NEVER go back again, and I would never tell anyone else to go there.
- Cons: Expensive, overpriced, sneaky, dishonest.
