Outstanding Sunday Brunch Experience

by jilllabarre

If you are tired of a traditional buffet Sunday brunch and want a great treat, then make a reservation at the Hyatt's La Coquina. The assortment is expansive and the champagne flows continuously. This is not your typical breakfast fare. You will be delighted with the fresh fruits, cavier, cheese assortment, seafood bar, pasta dishes... and these aren't even the entrees! A bit more expensive, but worth it when you experience the visit to the chefs kitchen and make your selection. The service is attentive and save room for the desserts. The presentation throughout the meal is perfectly capped with the sweets selection

  • Pros: unique dining experience
  • Cons: having to pay for valet parking

An Epicurean Delight

by travelhound

My husband and I experienced dinner at La Coquina on 1/27/06. Unlike the brunch, dinner is served in the kitchen.

The menu is a 7 course fixed meal. No choices. The price per person was $85.00 per person or if you choose the the 3 glass wine selection with the meal it was $120.00 per person.

After being seated at your table the chef, comes to your table and explains to you each course he will be serving that night. He also encouraged us to come to the preparation area of the kitchen to see how the varous courses are assembled.

Our dinner was incredible! We ate duck, lobster, and beef which were all prepared not only to please the palate, but to please you visually.

My husband and I have eaten at many excellent restaurants across the U.S. and this one has made it to our top ten list.

Chef's Table or Brunch - best in town

by cpalmatier

We have been to most of the high end restaurant's in Orlando for dinner and this by far exceeds them all. The menu changes daily but if there is soemthing you do not like on the menu, Chef Orlando is happy to substitute something else. The service is not pretentious but manage to provide the appropriate service without being obtrusive. We love eating in the kitchen and being able to watch the food being cooked or ask questions.

High-end dining from the premier restaurant at the Grand Cypress Resort.

by Contributor

In Short
Ever-changing New World cuisine served two ways: Dinner is a hushed and elegant affair, served Wednesday through Saturday; brunch, a spectacular celebration of the culinary arts, takes place every Sunday. Guests receive a printed menu announcing the daily offerings. Each of the five courses is prepared and served with flair--from poached sea bass to Kobe beef. Servers are able to recommend pairings from the restaurant's impressive selection of wines.

  • Pros: Eclectic, delicious
