Horrible Weekend Visit 10/27/09
by chicosgirl18
Waited for 1 Hour 10 Minutes. Food was terrible. Looked like prepackaged food from Costco. Service was awful as well and I overheard the manager pointing out to some employees as he made fun of a customer at a table. I wouldn't go back if they gave out free food and drinks. Expensive, tacky and we had asked them to clean up the filthy bathroom at the beginning of the meal and when we went back at the end it was still disgusting. I felt like I should have told someone outside waiting to RUN. Don't waste your $$$
- Pros: NO PROS
- Cons: Long Wait, Awful Food,
Entertaining but don't expect much else

Our recent visit to the Rainforest Cafe last week was our third and will be our last visit. When our children were 4 and 6, their fascination with the decor was enough to offset the poor food quality and expensive tab. However, now that they are 8 and 10, they found the place to be overly juvenile and the food almost inedible.
The Rainforest Cafe is a great place to visit ONCE but be prepared for long waits, noisy atmosphere, poor food quality, and an expensive tab ($100 plus for a family of four).
Be careful when ordering flashy kids drinks, the prices aren't published so you'll be surprised when you see that they cost $12!
- Pros: Amusing for YOUNG children
- Cons: Very expensive, poor food quality, long waits
Awesome Experience
by PrimaDonna32708
Great Experience. The service was awesome and the food was even better. Everything from the decore to the staff was terrific. A great night out and money well spent.
This cartoon jungle is a child's wonderland, with waterfalls, swinging monkeys and a canopy of faux flora and fauna.

In Short
While waiting for a table, hungry diners prowl the retail village, where cash-register ka-chings compete with chirping birds, roaring lions and chest-thumping gorillas. When the lights start to flicker, never fear--thunderstorms are part of the show. The menu is American comfort food--pastas, burgers, pizzas and salads--served with a tropical flair. There are plenty options that the kids will recognize, but enough novelty to keep the parents happy.
Worst Restaurant Experience Ever
by MamaSusanFaye
We had the worst experience ever! They did not have our reservation and I had not brought the number. (never had a problem in the past). The "work-in" was 1.5 hours, not the 30 minutes we were told. The food was over an hour in arriving to our table. The bill was messed up, but the computers were down, so they could not correct it. The waitress was apparently amused by the other family's misery.
I had bragged on this place and insisted we bring our kids there when we vacationed together. Then we have the worst customer service possible.
Our party had 5 children and expected to eat 2 hours earlier than we actually did. Imagine how that went. If you expect a smooth experience, do not dine here.
- Pros: It would have been great if the service had been good.
- Cons: Screwed up our reservation, then had the worst service ever!
Our family always enjoy going to this location.

Wow I cannot think of anything negative to say. We love the food, the location and the people that work at this location Every time we visit Disney which is at least twice a year this is our first stop. Relax enjoy and best of all the food.
- Cons: always a wait to get in but worth it
Cool Clothes/Gifts
by vegetarian4life
As a vegetarian I was surprised that the Rainforest cafe offered little vegetarian choices (one). I actually ordered a dish minus the beef. Our natural rainforest are being depleted due to the meat-guzzling population. Is their agenda to contribute to the annihilation of true rainforest so you will have to go visit their cartoon version? Other than those issues our service was horrendous, a nursing mother was given alcohol and the server got agitated because we sent it back. My beer sat at the bar long enough to become room temp, I watched it in anticipation yet our Nacho app was not warm enough to melt the cheese.
The gift shop was fun and I got a good price on a hoodie as we were experiencing record lows and did not pack for that. I would only hope that part of the proceeds go to protect the real rainforest.
- Pros: kids love it
- Cons: too meat oriented
Such fun!

We had a great time in this crazy restaurant- the decorating is extremely extensive, with anamatronic animals along the walls and a thousand gallon saltwater fishtank at the entrance. The intermitant "volcano eruptions" might frighten some small children, although it thrilled the two I was with. It is very noisy, between the jungle sounds and the Disney crowd, but the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the chocolate Volcano dessert is to die for.
- Pros: Great vacation spot
- Cons: very noisy
Great atmosphere, poor food
by chilton57
The restaurant had GREAT atmosphere. Loved the plants, rain, mechanized animals, periodic thunderstorms (which scared my grand daughter). My wife and I ordered Mai Tais which we loved. We also had the Steak, Shrimp and Chicken trio.. That was some of the toughest steak I have had in a while, and considering I paid about $27 for this meal, I was severely disappointed. Also, even though we only had 3 as our party, they tacked on 18% tip. Haven't seen that elsewhere in Orlando. Now, there was a LONG line waiting to come into the restaurant, and it was packed, so maybe this was a fluke... My wife's fried coconut shimp with ther meal were over cooked and tough... I don't like coconut so I changed my shript to their crab stuffed and bacon wrapped shrimp with bernaise sauce, and they were just OK.
- Pros: Great fun atmosphere
- Cons: Poor food quality.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Rain Forest Cafe is a wonderful. I eat there everytime I go to Orlando (which is several times a year). The food is great. There is tons to choose from, and it tastes delicious. The kid's menu is great too. My little sister is a picky eater, but still has many choices. About every 1/2 hour there is a "thunderstorm" where the lights dim and all the animals move. Its awesome. The giftshop is great too. The wait can be long (you can buy a pass to skip the line, get discounts, etc.), but you can shop around Downtown Disney or the gift shop while you wait. Rain Forest Cafe is the perfect place for everyone! : )
- Pros: Great Atmosphere, Good Food, Great for All Ages
- Cons: wait
