Southern-style architecture accented with lush gardens, fountains, pathways and waterways, all with a definite Cajun flavor.

The Scene
Southern flair and an antebellum theme define this 2,048-room resort. Lazy willows, lush gardens, fountains, pathways and waterways decorate the landscape. Bridges line the property and connect the resort's four mansions and 16 bayou buildings with the complex's recreational area, called to Ol' Man Island, found in the center. There you'll find pools, spas, a fishing hole and a playground. The Sassagoula River runs through the resort and a free cruise is offered to the Downtown Disney Marketplace.
The Details
The rooms typically include two double beds and comfortably sleep four. Some rooms include trundle beds--perfect for children under 9. Services include baby-sitting/child care, express checkout and valet cleaning. The resort's main dining facility is the Colonel's Cotton Mill, an enormous food court offering a variety of culinary delights. Boatwright's Dining Hall, a 195-seat restaurant, offers roasted chicken, pizza, pasta dishes, prime rib, steak and ribs.

Dixie landings. Even if I hit it rich I would stay there again. 8 of us with a wonderful connecting room. GREAT maids made it fun for the kids. GREAT pools and food. Little diappointed at checkin, Girl was rude, But she was the ONLY one. Everyone else was super. Grounds were beautiful.
Always wanted to go to New Orleans, Now I do not need to, this I am sure was MUCH better.LOVE IT !
MGM and the Water slides were the best ! Need a Indiana Jones ride at Magic Kindom.
- Pros: Quite, Pools, Food
- Cons: Checkin

Port Orleans Riverside is dynamite. We stayed at the lodges and it was fabulous. The room was spotless and very large. The view from our large corner windows included ducks, rabbits, and nature itself. Beautiful! There is so much to do there we never even went to a theme park. Go to Muddy Rivers for a cocktail by Kathy. Dinner at the Fulton Crab House (former Empress Lilly) is a must. All in all it was the best vacation experience we ever had! Stay there, you will be glad you did.
- Pros: Scenery, Quiet, Relaxing
Great spot

Very peaceful property that's not quite as flashy as other resorts (such as All Stars, or Caribbean Beach Resort). There's a lot to do at Riverside, including visiting it's sister property, Port Orleans. Don't miss the free boat ride that runs from the resort to Downtown Disney. It's a nice treat and a great way to relax.
Definitely one of the quietest of the Disney resorts, great for adults traveling without children.
