Fun Getaway
by wuzzer
My 11 year old son and I stayed and there was lots to do for both of us. I got up early and sat out by the lake and journaled. Later the two of us rented a motor boat and a touring bicycle for two. We had a blast riding it around the lake. I really prefer room service, but this is an intermediate hotel for Disney. At any rate, the walk to the main eatery was nice and filled with friendly people and families. The pools looked like fun, but it was a bit chilly for swimming.
- Pros: lake, lots to do, quiet
- Cons: no room service, Disney transport, no elevator
Expensive, but worth it for the memories

I stayed here during my younger days while I lived in MN and vacationed down here. Now as an adult, I needed a vacation, and wanted some nostalgia along with it. Disney is the best for this. Wonderful landscaping, great ambiance, wonderful food, albeit expensive. Be prepared to stay at least 3 days to experience most everything, and leave with your wallet ALOT lighter.
- Pros: Beautiful, Big Rooms, Great Service
- Cons: Expensive, Lots of Walking
A larger-than-life resort with spellbinding recreations of Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba and Jamaica.

The Scene
A pastel-colored tropical escape, the Caribbean Beach Resort offers moderately priced rooms in a complex of five villages: Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba and Jamaica. The villages surround a large lake with white sandy beaches, and each village has its own pool. Barefoot Bay Boat Yard rents out a variety of small watercraft and bicycles. A footbridge connects the resort with Parrot Cay, a one-acre island with a variety of playgrounds and walkways.
The Details
Guest rooms are typically 400 square feet and feature two double beds, a mini-bar and coffeemakers. Each village has a laundry facility. There is a main pool facility at Old Port Royale (the main building at the center of the resort), as well as a food court that provides six counter-service dining options.
quiet walks, close to action

lots of walking and joging paths....boat rentals and bicycles built for four....lots of food choices prior to remodeling but i can't imagine them changing that a whole lot
- Pros: quite areas, lots of pools, good value
Island Paradise

Great hotel! Comfortable, colorful rooms with tropical flair. The only complaint I have is that I wish the beds were at least queen size, but if it's just one or two persons in the room, it's no big deal.
- Pros: Security, Parking, Decor
- Cons: Double Beds
