Best Japanese restaurant in town
by aquatiu
It's a gem in the "tourist zone". Unlike the nearby Japanese restaurants which all too compromised in the taste which you'd hardly recognize the cuisine, this restaurant stays true to the Japanese characteristic meal. The foods are beautifully present, the taste is outstanding, the restaurant interior is Zen like with minimal simplicity decor. The foods here are the real highlight as they are fantastically present with uncompromising tastes. Lunch menu ranging from $8 to $10, whereas dinner will cost twice as much which is what you'd paying for any surrounding restaurants. Having in Japan for quite sometimes, I can definitely say this restaurant serves as close as it get to a perfect Japanese meal

I'm a traveler and have been to endless Japanese restaurants, of course hanamizuki isn't the best but it's the ONLY restaurant that serves good authentic japanese food here in Orlando. Decoration makes I feel right at home, small portions but Hey...it's a Japanese restaurant, eat less....live longer =)
Authentic japanese
by flasunlover
This is the most authentic, and in my opinion, the very best Japanese resturant in Orlando. The original owner died recenty, but there has been no change in quality. The food is prepared and served by Japanese. The menu is extensive, to say the least. I highly recommend their seasonal specials that are excellent. Service and quality are excellent, although I have never ordered the sushi. Their daily lunch specials are an outstanding value...$10.00 including tax and tip, and can usually feed two people. My Japanese wife and I dine here often and it is always filled with other Japanese customers.
Great Restaurant

The previous review must be have the wrong restaurant. We are from Japan and this is the best Japanese food you can get in Orlando. The food is very fresh (a lot more fresh than you can get from the grocery store!). I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to eat authentic and very fresh Japanese food.
Do NOT take children here! Or anyone actually!

I visited Hanamazuki with my two well-behaved toddlers (yup) in search of some great sushi, which all three of us like. The servers huddled in the back, pointing and scowling while we waited for one of them to finally seat us. Though only 30% of the tables were occupied, she said there were no tables available. I asked if sushi bar was open, she said yes, but then tried to give us the worst seats. We then waited a long time for a different server to take our order, and then the sushi took forever to come because there was only one sushi chef and about 6 orders ahead of ours. The sushi was just OK, and very expensive. The tempura from the kitchen was great, but $18.95 for five shrimp and four vegetable pieces and rice? Never again.
- Pros: tempura
- Cons: service, slowness, overpriced
Authentic Japanese cuisine in a tranquil, upscale environment makes this I-Drive hotspot perfect for dinner.

In Short
The interior is a tylish mix of traditional and moder with Japanese lanterns at every table and a sleek indoor rock garden. Waitresses are clad in kimonos. Order sushi as an appetizer and pick among a large selection of specialities for an entree. he whole fluke, cooked tableside on a rock, or the oroshini, fried flounder complemented by a radish soup. The sauteed shrimp and tempura comes deliciously prepared in a white lobster sauce with baby corn, mushrooms and snow peas. The pepper steak, served with a medley of vegetables in a smooth brown sauce, and the ginger pork, prepared with a spicy ginger sauce and vegetables, are among the specialties.
- Pros: authentic cuisine
- Cons: can be pricey

This is where my Japanese friends like to go when they're homesick for actual Japanese food. Pricey, but very good.
