STAY AWAY ~ Pay less car rental in Orlando are Crooks

Got to Orlando airport and had to wait for their shuttle bus. When we arrived to the PayLess office, the line was ridiculous. We waited over an hour before we were seen and this is where it really got crazy.

The employee at the desk informed me that they would do not accept outside collision insurance, I must either buy theirs or pay $350 which would not be refunded until after 14 days of the rental return and only if there wasn't one scratch on the car. She went on to say that I needed to sign these papers and that I could be liable for as much as the value of the rental car if I do not purchase their insurance. Which was over $84 for 5 days rental. She was really using "bully" tactics and I was so frustrated.

Then she also informed me that the midsize car I rented was a 2 door Kia. I showed her my copies and it showed a 4 door vehicle, but she did not care. She was so rude.

There were other employees treating other clients so badly, especially this one senior citizen lady who was beeing bullied by a male employee. Anyway the experiece was the worst thing I have encountered in my life.

It was late, maybe now 10 pm and I didn't have anyone local who could pick us up and I didn't know if their shuttle would take me back to the airport so I could try and deal with a more reputable car rental, like Enterprise or Hertz. I had to bend over and pay their extra insurance cost. The two ladies infront of me had an equally exhausting and disgusted experience and we all made a pack to never use this company again and to warn others

Last thing, when I dropped the car off I was instructed to go inside and hand a counter person this small piece of paper. When the counter man looked at the paper and looked at me, he said, well this is a mistake, according to our computer you put 30,000 miles on this car and of course you couldn't put that many miles on a car in 5 days. I said to him, wouldn't matter if I did I had unlimited mileage ........I smiled (glad to get the heck out of there) and walked out..............never to return again.

Not bad for the price

I rented a car for a week from Payless and all went well. The car was not squeaky clean but not bad either. I was picked up at the airport a just a few minutes after I called from the courtesy phone, from the baggage claim section at airport. It was past midnight and they close at 1AM, according to the contract paper (although they say the shuttle is 24 hour, it is mainly for people who park long-term at the same facility). I was bit worried. If you are reaching Orlando late in the evening, it might be good to talk to them and see what should be done if the flight gets delayed. Upon return, it was very quick checkout right at the car and the van to take me to airport was waiting for me. I did save some 100 dollars! I did see a lot of customers returning cars and boarding the van(s) for airport. So it does look like a popular rental agency.

Find a better rental

My experience with Payless is by far the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I made a reservation for a car rental from payless through Expedia. The reservation was for a Standard Car which according to the site is a Ford Fusion or similar, 4 doors, 5 adults, 2 large suitcases, 2 carry-ons. Upon reaching the counter I had to wait over 30 minutes to be able to drive off with a rental car. In addition, the man at the counter claimed a Standard car included coups and wanted to give us a two door Ford Mustang which clearly did not meet our needs as we have two small kids in carseats. Tired from the flight and desperate to enjoy our time in Florida we told him we couldn't drive the Ford Mustand and that we needed something with 4 doors. The only available car was a Toyota Highlander. We ended up having to pay $300 instead of the $187 that we had agreed to pay on expedia. All on account of the fact that they didn't have the car we had reserved. Shouldn't we have gotten a free upgrade if it's their fault? I felt cheated and ripped off and will never rent anything from them again.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!

I had the worst service of my entire life at this place at 6am. I had one of their employees scream in my face over his mistake, which he only figured out after I asked for a manager. He then proceeded to apologize over and over and over. This branch operates illegally and tried to charge me for things that didnt have anything to do with my bill.

Seriously, spend the extra $2 a day on a car rental and go elsewhere!!!!

The man was screaming at a woman and her two tiny children when we walked in the place, I should have known what my experience was going to be like... What a nasty horrible person.

If do you do go, and you get George, you should just wait for the next person because he is a bi-polar psycho... I am not kidding!

• Cons: Everything, the service, the people, the whole entire experience...
