Not up to its usual standard....

by sarahsusan28

I always loved this restaurant, but just went and had a horrible meal. Nothing tasted good at all. Very bland and the service was terrible as well. Waiters were rushed, threw the dishes on the table. Took a long time to get some of the items. When I mentioned to the owner that the food was just not up to par, he said "really? same cook" and turned on his heels. I will never go back. Think twice before you go. Something is just not the same.

  • Pros: Convenient location and pretty surroundings. Very clean.
  • Cons: Bland food, poor service and lack of customer service skills

BEST QUALITY FOR THE MONEY!

Perfect Chinese restaurant to check out on a date! There is never too many people at this restaurant. I usually go about once a month because they have very authentic Chinese food. They also have fresh seafood that you can order by the pound of them to cook. I love the steamed sea bass and the fresh wontons they make. I also love the fried oysters. The menu can be a bit pricey but that is because you are paying for quality food. It is not your average Chinese restaurant, they are a little bit more classier, and like I said, a great place to have a dinner date!

  • Pros: Fast service, delicious food, quiet location, lots of parking,
  • Cons: expensive

Nice people. Wonderful food. A tad on the $$$ side, but worth it.

We've been getting take out from this fine restaurant for over 7 years and have yet to have a bad experience with food or service. The sweet & sour pork is the best. I love General Tsu's chicken. The egg rolls are great. The veggies are always bright in color and crunchy. I have never had a bad meal from Chinatown. They have a market where you can buy fresh seafood, including many live varieties swimming in their tanks! They will clean the fish and prepare it the way you want it...which, for me, is filets ready for broiling! Average tab for three entrees, rice, 2 egg rolls: $30-$34. Panda Express has opened up on Colonial Highway and, while we also like their food, we keep coming back to Chinatown.

  • Pros: They have a nicely landscaped parking lot with lots of space, the building is very interesting
  • Cons: I can't think of any cons

Fresh seafood

by qla

I went there a couple times trying to order many different food they have to offer in the menu ... and finally I can summarize my experience with this restaurant. While the place is nice, the food is just average (just an OK Chinese food with many variety offered in the menu). However, take notice that they have the seafood "market" on the store, and the seafood are freshly cooked!

  • Pros: Good parking
  • Cons: Average food

Attention to presentation, an extensive menu, and fresh, fresh fish elevate Chinatown above the average Wok Inn.

The Scene
Welcome to Chinatown: a glass case with hanging carcasses of roast pork, duck and chicken, the last often with its head still on. Realism gives way to casual comfort in the dining room, with a mixture of booths and glass-topped tables with inlaid wooden chairs. Paper dragons hang from high ceilings in the pentagon room.

The Food
A mixture of the everyday and the exotic, with an emphasis on seafood. If you're adventurous, ask your server for suggestions or point to the dishes on the next table: Chinatown attracts many Asian-Americans and old China hands. Barbecue samplers like the "Double Delight," chicken and duck served on orange slices, can also double as appetizers. For a combination of delicious tastes and unusual textures, try pan fried noodle with seafood, shrimp, squid, scallops and grouper on a bed (a mattress spring?) of permed noodles that crunch like chips.

One of the Best

by orlandorater

Chinatown is one of the best chinese restaurants in Orlando. Food was spectacular and as authentic as the name implies. Had a steamed fish dish and roasted duck...it couldn't have been any better anywhere else.

  • Pros: Good Parking, Great Service, Awesome Food
  • Cons: Expensive
