First, it was my first time ever having Korean food. However, my boyfriend is half Korean and has family over there. I treated him to the meal. So I will begin by saying a couple of things about the poor reviews for this restaurant. First, the service was excellent. And with excellent service, one does not tip 10%. The food was delicious, but be aware that this is not an inexpensive experience. But that is because the portions are big. You will not be able to finish, especially if you order an appetizer like I did. I had the seafood pancake as an appetizer and some bulgogi as the entree. It was by far the best food I have had in a while. Also, the rice nectar is refreshing and after the meal they give you slices of cantaloupe.

Pros: Excellent food

Having spent over a year in Korea I am very familiar with it's people and their food, and this is the best Korean restaurant in the area, hands-down. Unfortunately, it’s the only true Korean restaurant still open in Orlando (I think the other closed 2 yrs ago) that specializes in real Korean BBQ…they actually have gas grills built into most of the tables. The BBQ meals all come with endless authentic side dishes; some may take a little getting used to (like cooked jellyfish) and vary with each visit. Making wraps with fresh lettuce is fun and healthy. All the food is well seasoned and very tasty. I usually order the galbi, my wife likes the bibimbap. It’s very small and easy to miss if you don’t know where it is. The owner and entire staff is Korean and the décor, although kinda “rustic”, is as authentic as the food…definitely worth the trip, especially if you’re already in Orlando. The clients are 95% Korean. No reservations so get there early. It gets packed on weekends and I’ve seen people wait over an hour to be seated, and well worth it. Pleanty of parking in the rear. BTW, I read the other reviews of this place and I can’t imagine how it received two low ratings out of six. Okay, maybe I've become used to less than excellent service in most resturants, but my Japanese wife and I have always been treated like royalty when we go there and the “meal” is more like a feast!

Pros: Variety and taste of food, fun & unique preparation

Cons: Smallish seating capacity - only one large table

Best Kalbi and Bulgogi, you can find!!! I've been into other states, and I had many different Korean food. But this is the true Korean restaurant in all the states! Food is great! Lots of side dishes!!! Love Ya~!!!

Pros: Thumbs up!

Be careful with the tip charge in Shin Jung resturant. The owners got upset when we left a 10% tip in the moment of paying the check. The manager or owner, came to our table and ask us to leave 15% tip in a very rude way. Tip is not mandatory, if the service is bad, they still asking for the 15% of tip. It is a shame, because the food and place are great. There should be another Korean BBQ places in Orlando.

i was in orlando for a vacation and being korean, wanted to have korean food. however i could not find the restaurant, so we called for the direction. they were extremely rude. the attitude was same inside the restaurant. the food was mediocre at best. overall it was one of the worst dining experience in a while.

Pros: only one of two korean restaurant i can find in orlando

Cons: horrible service

My boyfriend (Korean) took me here for the first time a month ago, and I left fuller than ever before. The BBQ is really fresh and the side dishes are yummy. The kimchi is aged which I guess is the way it is supposed to be. The Kal Bi ($18/dinner) and the Dae Ji Bul Go Gi($14/dinner) are my favorites and the tea is really good. Be sure to ask for lettuce and garlic to wrap your bbq the right way. At the end they serve you an orange slice which completes the meal perfectly. Best in FL I've been to so far! (aside from my boyfriend's cooking of course :))

It is fun to grill right on the table. Kal Bi (beef, ribs, but it's cut in a different way) is the best and my favorite grill order. It is good for group of 3+. One order is good for about 2 people. Kimgi Jige is great, seafood pancake is worth to try. Bee Beam bowl or something like that is great. The only thing in the menu I don't recommend is the noodle soup in lunch menu. It is instant noodles.

Pros: good appertizer, self BBQ grill

Cons: not enough parking, below average service

Great restaurant. I always come here with my girlfriend to have their kalbi. Love the food and the service (if you're asian/korean) is always good. This feels like a typical asian restaurant where the focus is more on the food rather than on service. Come here if you want great Korean food (probably the best in Orlando).

Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Location

Cons: Expensive, Entrance Ramp

While hidden in a tucked-away hut on Colonial Drive, this tiny Korean barbecue stands out in Little Vietnam.  See the full editorial review.
