My husband and I love sushi and decided to try this place. It's kinda of tucked away in a pretty deserted plaza and the owner told us that they've actually been there for 22 years. After eating there - I can definitely see why! The service was great and the waitress was very friendly and quick. The rolls were VERY reasonably priced. We were able to try a few different rolls because it was so affordable. The ingredients tasted very fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was unpretencious and inviting. A very casual place if you want to just relax and try some good food. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that enjoys sushi. We are so glad we found it.

Pros: good service, casual & friendly atmosphere, great prices

Yae Sushi was recommended by a friend of mine. I called ahead to reserve a booth. Once we arrived, we were seated in a cozy booth with Japanese themed drapes. The atmosphere is relaxing, intimate and the service was great. The waitress was very knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The pricing was not bad either. I will be going back in the near future. I highly recommend. 5/5!

In the mood for sushi one night and encouraged by the positive reviews on City Search, a friend and I decided to give Yae Sushi a try. We had seen it before but never tried it, and it looked like a quaint little hole-in-the-wall type place, so we figured it might be an undiscovered gem (as it is often the case for small, overlooked restaurants). Perusing the menu, we noted that the prices for sushi were inexpensive ($6-$10 per roll), and while it is not always true that you get what you pay, in this case it is. The fried tofu appetizer was bland, the sushi rolls were bland (california rolls made with imitation crab meat sticks? I could have made that at home), and to say my nigiri sake (salmon) was sub-par would be to put it nicely. If you're looking to pay money to be served browning fish meat, please, give Yae Sushi a try. I would have sent it back to the kitchen but our waitress never checked on us. As if the food and service wasn't bad enough, we had to wait 10 minutes for the bill - even after notifying who presumably was the owner of the restaurant. This would have been pardonable if the place had been crowded or busy, but it wasn't. There was only 1 or 2 other tables, and if you've got time to tidy up tables, fold napkins, and do other busy work, I think it's safe to say you've probably got enough time to at least check on your customers. In short, Yae Sushi is inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. In all honesty, if you're a sushi fan, you're better off going to Publix for a pre-made refrigerated platter of sushi than go to Yae Sushi. Bad food; bad service; won't ever go back there again; and I would only recommend this place to my enemies. Those people who are leaving reviews for Yae Sushi saying it's the "best sushi in town" and the like, you guys don't know what good sushi is.

Since my wife and I live so close to Yae Sushi, we decided to go here once last year and were highly dissapointed by both the slow, mediocre service and sub-par sushi. We went again last night for Valentine's day, and although I expected it to be crowded (which it was), the service was worse than usual and it was at least 15 minutes before a staff member even acknowledged we were there! The pricing and value for the menu is good, but everything seemed cheap or done cheaply, from the ginger salad to the suchi itsself. Our miso soup looked and tasted like it was made en-mass cheaply, and all the other dishes looked and tasted the same. It's not so much that it was bad as much as you can tell that there was no quality in the products or ingredients they were using. Overall, its not a bad place for a quiet night of sushi with a friend, but just don't expect a high-quality experience going into it. This is definately 3rd class sushi, especially with so many other great 1st tier sushi venues in the greater Orlando area.

Pros: Good prices, intimate atmosphere

I felt compelled to respond to a review that I read dated October 8, 2007 from user ech0 I must say I felt his review was extremely harsh & a bit biased due to the fact they has personal ties to an employee. I have been dining at Yae Sushi from its conception when the servers wore kimonos. I still dine there at least once a week to this day for the fact that their quality of food & service is impeccable. I personally have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. I I can comfortably say that I consider myself a so called expert when it comes to a restaurant that is constant and qualifies as staple in our community. Lets review the it takes to be successful in a business where most fail within the first year. Yae Sushi has the formula that many others should only aspire to be. I strongly suggest anyone to visit, for the fact they will walk away satisfied. Yae Sushi is one of the traditional sushi restaurants and basically started the sushi trend in our area. I highly suggest you give it a try.

Pros: location, value,frshness

Cons: not open for lunch

I usually eat japanese food once a week, if not twice with my girlfriend. I grew up going to this sushi restaurant and i remember it was good before. It had been a while since i've been to Yae Sushi, so I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and honestly... the staff, the atmosphere, and the food ruined a potentially great dinner. In my opinion, the staff is pathetic...the restaurant was barely half full and the servers were very obviously over fluttered with the crowd. We werent even a hassle, with a party of 15. The servers looked tired, non professional, and just overall washed up. The food came out in all kinds of directions. Random appetizers, cold and soggy tempura dinners, overly saturated goopy Udon noodles, never any drink refills, and worse of all, my sushi came literally 45 minutes after my heavy dish came out and we were all done. I had no appetite for it, and it tasted old, cheap, and just overall gross. Not to mention they are very stingy with their rolls and sashimi portions. The temperature inside the restaurant was disgustingly warm and the staff were non existant. My guests were all sweating. I hate to say it, but they ruined our celebration. On a seperate occasion, and ONLY because we got a gift card from the server there, we went and had take out. Just on a second chance basis. they forgot our white tuna, and gave us red tuna...which was more Grey and Mushy, and our udon was literally dissolved into the soup which was just a goop of mess. Never going back there again. After we called back about the tuna, there was no apology, just "I heard you say Tuna" If you're looking for a real sushi bar to go to with REAL FRESH HEARTY sushi, Great Service, prompt and correct serving agenda, go to Bangkok Square on Alafaya across from UCF. They also serve Thai food which is delicious. Not to mention the servers all look crisp, attractive and very lively and friendly.

I have been dining at Yae Sushi for about 8 years. I love the atmosphere and the food! It is a small restaurant but they have the biggest sushi roll menu I have ever seen. I have yet to find a place that can even compare. Favorite items include their dinner salad (because of the fabulous dressing), the Chicken Teriyaki, Unagi (sliced or in a roll - that's BBQ Eel), any of the tempuras, Lobster Sushi roll, Salmon Skin handroll, Fresh Ebi (shrimp), Fried Cheesecake, I could go on and on. Anything on the menu can also be adjusted and they have regular specials - which is when I try the stuff that I'm not so sure about. It might get pricey if you try a lot of different rolls, but mostly the cost is average.

Pros: Food & Atmosphere. I have always had good service.

Cons: Small restaurant & operating hours

Went here to try something new and was not disappointed. The fish is fresh and good but not the best I have had. Talked to the owner a bit and he was very nice. I just could not get over all fo the sushi rolls with cream cheese. I realize what kind of customers they get there but come on.

There are two kinds of people who go to sushi bars in Orlando: those who love the fish, and those who love nigiri (sushi rolls). While Yae Sushi has good rolls, it's the quality of the fish that puts it above other sushi bars. I've always had excellent sushi and sashimi there. Their wasabi is good too. Their sake selection is run-of-the-mill, though. Try the jellyfish salad! Frequently packed, reservations are a necessity on the weekends, and a good idea the rest of the time. The place is small, the bar is tiny. Get a booth if you want any privacy, but be warned: the authentic looking ones on the left are pretty uncomfortable if you sit too long. You'll either love or hate the ambience. It's certainly distinctive.

Pros: Great fish, novel salads, cozy atmosphere

Cons: small, busy, sometimes understaffed

I have been going to Yae Sushi on a regular basis for around 4 years now, and I am a big fan. The food is outstanding and very unique. Most sushi restaurants serve you giant rolls of rice loaded so big, they're impossible to eat in one mouthful. Yae has what I consider more traditional sized rolls that are perfect! The selection is amazing....and the creations on the menu are like no other. I feel that the price is average. The only rolls that come in 4s are the ones with shrimp....the rest are mostly all 8. What is so impressive is how unique the sushi is. I can go to any other sushi restaurant in Orlando and they are all pretty similar, but none are like Yae. I also feel that Yae has a big following of people like me who are "regulars". I really don't understand those who don't like Yae....maybe those are just sushi yuppies who don't know good sushi if it nailed them on the head. My only wish is that they open for lunch again like they used to be. I am self-employed and LOVE a good sushi lunch in the middle of the day!!

Pros: Amazing selection, uniqueness, cozy ambience

Cons: Service is normally great unless they are super busy, then it can be a little slow
