My favorite Cuban... by Tammy H. at InsiderPages

Black Bean Deli has consistently been rated, Best Cuban in Orlando. There is a reason for this! The food is cheap, fresh, and yummy! The downside is that you can't really eat in, but it's fantastic for takeout, and they do cater events as well. The decor is pretty great too!
Best Cuban In O-TOWN

Been going here for 5 years and is hands down the best cuban in town.
- Pros: Cheap and fast
Great Cuban Food

I was there the same afternoon as the gentleman who left the last review. I placed my order before he did and received it after. It was well worth the wait, the food was delicious. The Empanadas and Chorizipan were full of flavor. For my patience and understanding I was rewarded with some extra goodies: extra empanadas and the stuffed potato-balls. YUM!
No one was ever yelled at in the 30 minutes I was there. We were politely informed that they were out of whatever it was.
I am definitely going to go back.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: long wait
snotty, slow and woefully hot inside

I was there on a Saturday afternoon to pick up a quick lunch special and an additional Cuban sandwich. When I placed my order, instead of being politely told that they were out of Cuban sandwiches (of all things) a loud voice shreiked from the kitchen area, "I DON'T THINK SO!!!!. YOU CAN HAVE TURKEY!!!" I should have trusted my instincts at that point and run for the door. Instead I placed an order for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of beans and rice. Twenty five minutes later, my order was finally ready ( they weren't that busy, but had stupidly accepted an order for huge amounts of food which they were incapable of filling in a timely matter -- an order which was filled while regular customers waited, and waited and waited......). No apology or compensation was offered for the long wait. Add to this the fact that the sandwiches were thrown together and the bread was soggy. The beans and rice had congealed into a solid, lukewarm blob in the styrofoam bowl. In the center of all of this was a rock solid, dry mass of uncoocked rice. Three words for this place -- I DON'T THINK SO!
- Pros: none I can think of
- Cons: everthing about the place
Love it!

I love Black Bean Deli. They are one of the few Cuban restaurants around that have vegetarian black beans and rice and their tamales are delicious! Unfortunately, almost everytime I have been (within so-called "hours" as listed in their front window) they are CLOSED! I am not exaggerating when I say I have driven there at least ten times within business hours to find the doors locked. Get it together!
- Pros: FOOD!
- Cons: Seating, HOURS!
For almost 20 years, no-frills deli has been dishing up wholesome Cuban takeout.

In Short
This is island comfort food to go, from black bean soup to sandwiches and albondigas (meatballs). Platters come with generous scoopfuls of black beans and yellow rice, fried plantains and iceberg-tomato salad. Try moist, peppery Spanish baked chicken. Vegetarians can feast on tamales (flecks of red are pimiento, not pork), a substantial meal when ordered as a platter. Flan de queso has a slightly sour taste and cheesecake texture; stick with the plain version.
Black Bean Deli NOT CLOSED
by rworth1 at Citysearch
To dispel all rumors The Black Bean Deli was simply closed for remodeling. They are back at their old location with a brand new look. Same great tasting Cuban food and some new menu items.
- Pros: Good Food, Great Prices, Friendly Service
- Cons: Little / No Seating
