www.orlandoweekly 2006 Holiday Gift Guide Kathmandu 352 N. Park Ave., Winter Park, 32789 (407) 647-7071 23 S. Court Ave., Orlando, 32801 (407) 316-0026 www.tribalasia Though the location has moved around, and a new, second downtown store just opened, traveler/explorer Gary Schwartz has brought us the best from India for decades now. His enclaves are treasure troves of exotic packed with clothing, incense, oils, art and body adornments of all prices. Here’s where you’ll find unusual gifts to satisfy the Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, pagans, Wiccans, EXOTICA lovers, anti-establishmentarians and weirdos that are waiting for your material expression. Two-for-one sales abound, and Schwartz carries Fair Trade merchandise. • Latest in trendy Indian-label flip-flops (approximately $20) • Religious pendants for every belief ($8 and up) • 2-foot-high silver dragon candelabra ($175)
Pros: Orlando's Best Selection of Unique Imported "FAIR TRADE" items!
Cons: It's all GOOD!

Kathmandu has an ecclectic array of cultural artifacts, religous icons, jewlery, clothing, and other oddities that defy description. Upon entering the store, one is greeted by the sensual aroma of sandalwood. There are objects of wonder at every turn. The sales people are very friendly, and go out of their way to provide stimulating conversation and excellent customer service. They love to describe the provenance of their merchandise. It is rare in a town so infiltrated with tourists that one is treated as an esteemed guest. This is definitely the place to find that strange and rare objects d'art for those who have everything.
Pros: Good service, stimulating decor, good parking
