The Scene
Classy and cozy, diners choose among several small formal dining rooms, including an enclosed front porch with three walls of windows, which twinkle with icicle lights at night. Enjoy a drink and the view from the cozy upstairs lounge. Don't be surprised if a white-jacketed chef leans over your shoulder or pulls up a chair: Chef-owner Arthur Sturges often floats the floor.
The Food
Traditional gourmet abounds: caviar, shrimp cocktail, escargot, filet mignon, lobster tail, veal scaloppini, etc. New owners have turned popular specials like veal Oscar and Dover sole into regular entrees and added dinners for two and flambé desserts with tableside service. Service is bow-tied, but not smarmy. Plate presentation needs the next upgrade. Order the chicken pompadour with an almond crust. Vegetarians find refuge in the vegetable platter or vegetable linguini. Try the chocolate marquis for dessert.

FABULOUS!! GREAT FOOD, MUSIC, ATMOSPHERE. CHEF ARTHUR AND HIS WIFE ELLEN GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE YOU FEEL LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY. ELLEN'S DESSERTS ARE SO GOOD THEY SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. ARTHUR'S VEAL CHOP MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. WE GO 1-2 TIMES A WEEK. COME ON IN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
- Pros: FOOD, FRIENDLY FOLKS, SOCIAL
