Great Food
by BryanM
Food is excellent! You have got to have the chicken empanadas, they were awesome. The food is great, everything is home-made, no "store bought" at this place! The music is great - atmosphere is wonderful and the service is excellent.
- Pros: Chicken Empanadas
- Cons: None
Great Cuban Food
by MandMslover
This is a moderately proced restaurant and the food is always delicious. I love the Yucca and the garlic chicken is amazing. I do wish the salads had a bit more lettuce... but all in all it's great.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Sometimes the parking if it's crowded
Best Breaded Steak
by mxgirl280
Great Cuban food! Best breaded steak ever!! Service is standard, and so is the decor of a typical Cuban place. This is not fine dining, just really good food!
Rolando's is hands-down the best Cuban food in Central Florida.

The Scene
While not much to look at?the tables are plain and photos of Cuba decorate the walls?the lack of ambience is more than made up for by huge portions of authentic, home-cooked Cuban food.
The Food
Paella is an option if you call an hour in advance and order a minimum of two dinners. The traditional dish of yellow rice is filled with a seafood medley that includes shrimp and lobster, in addition to ham, chicken, and pork. Standard Cuban sandwiches, combining hearty, hot combinations of ham, roast pork, and Swiss cheese pressed between thin, crusty slices of Cuban bread, are a delight and come with a thick, tasty black bean soup. Entrees are served with freshly baked hot rolls, house salad, rice, and plantains or yucca. For dessert, ask if the rice pudding is available.
The Service
Good, if informal, and the place has, appropriately enough, a real family feel. Rolando's is used to serving Cubanos and those less familiar with the menu, so feel free to ask for an explanation of what goes into any dish.
Cozy

I've eaten at Rolando's twice. The decor is not the best, but it's very cozy and you feel as if you are in someone's living room. The servers are very friendly and there was a man playing and singing some pleasant music for your dining enjoyment. The first time I dined there I had a simple cuban sandwich (not on the menu, but available without problem). The second time I had a wonderfully seasoned plate of Ropa Vieja with yellow rice and fried plantains. I'm not a Cuban connessieur but I was pleased with the food both times.
- Pros: Complimentary Bread, Friendly Staff, Family Atmosphere
- Cons: Dinky Dinner Salads
