From view of the Aztec temple outside, a lot of visitors don’t realize how big the inside Mexico pavilion… or that there is a wonderful, relaxing boat ride inside. The lazy voyage by water highlights Mexican history and culture in a manner that at times feels reminiscent of the iconic Disney attraction, “It’s A Small World.” The ride at the beginning goes right by the main restaurant, the San Angel Inn, which is situated at the back of the pavilion. The Inn is romantic, right by the water and illuminated by candles, but the food I found to be average and the menu choices to be quite pithy. (If you’re craving a margarita, just go to the pavilion’s fast food counterpart right outside the temple). The main section of the pavilion’s interior though is the adorable Mexican market place, where visitors can also peruse the remarkable glasswork, jewelry, sombreros and other souvenirs. Under the dimly lit and starlined sky of the pavillion, one loses all track of time... and the feeling that they're in a theme park.
Pros: ride, shopping, ambience, architecture
Cons: restaurant
