LA Fitness is a great location to workout at. The people are very polite and help in any way that they can. There are many machines to choose from so it doesnt cause you to have to wait for a particular machine to work out on. You dont have to wait in a line nor waste time sitting around because there is a list. This place is very convenient being that there are many locations to choose from and if youre a member at one you are a member at all of them.

There are many locations and the classes are standardized but reliable, i.e. cycling, strength exercises (body sculpt). But the clientele is very young and often cultures clash. There seems to always be an incident in the sauna between races. Is this typical of a gym in the South? One group wants to listen to music without earphones and wears all clothes (plus shoes) while the other wants quiet and is generally just in a towel. Interesting place to see the two mix and try and relax despite hostilities!

You get what you expect at this LA Fitness. Good location, parking and equipment. It does get croweded around 5 or 6.

DANGER!! ITS NOT SAFE! DO NOT TRUST THEM! My locker was broken into and they stole my wedding rings and LA Fittness will NOT take any responsability for there lack of security. They informed me and the Police that they did not have a servelance camera outside of the locker room doors to see who goes in or out.(Feel safe ladie?) So if a woman is attacked they will never ID they monster. They do not have cameras inside or ouside the building anywhere. People were walking right past the checkin counter and off the street as I was talking to the police! They insisted it was safe for me and my children while my husband's in Iraq. I have a 14 year old Daughter that I was concerned about saftey wise working out while I was with my trainner and they insisted she would be safe so I signed. They said they were not resposable for unlocked lockers and I agree with that but mine was locked and the assistant manager said strait to my face that nothing has occurred at that location before and LIED! The Police officer said he had been there 5 times already . When I canceled my membership after the police report was done they wouldn't even refund the time remaining back. DO NOT do buisness with these AWFUL people. They don't care about you, your belongings or your safety at all. This has to stop before the bad guys win and we pay the price for there cheep ignorance. As for me I feel like someone ripped out my heart and if god forbid my husband is KIA in Iraq I have no wedding ring to keep close to my heart for comfort. They cant get away with doing this to people. Spread the word. BEWARE. I am a cops wife and wouldn't lie about something so devistateing. PLEASE DONT GO TO LA FITTNESS ITS NOT WORTH IT I PROMISE YOU THAT THE SACRAFICE IS TO GREAT.

Pros: none

Cons: unsafe

At LA Fitness you can have the option of working out with "Body of Change" trainers. I love my trainer, but the sales staff is a real crowd to handle. I signed a sales agreement under the assumption from the sales person that if I signed up for 3 days a week, that at any time I could drop it down to once or twice a week with no extra charge. Well, I have started taking night classes and can only make it once a week now. Now they are saying that policy never existed and I would never be able to drop my days down. So, I have to buyout my policy for a billion dollars or continue paying $500/month for a service I will rarely get to use. Pretty much, I was taken advantage of and lied to so somebody could make their sales quota--which is a great way to do business and keep your clients. They may keep me until my contract is up, but I am getting the hell out of that gym when it is over. Plus, they gym is always crowded, they have no alternative equipment such as bosu , etc. Not to mention, people's cars are broken into frequently at this gym. Typical gym scam ordeal...don't let it happen to you.

Pros: Large gym, lots of machines, good Body Pump class Tue-8p.m.

Cons: Overcrowded, hot, sales staff has head in the clouds

I go to the one in midtown, but I thought it unfair of the above reviews that they're about the personal training and not the gym itself. if you've never been to an LA Fitness, I imagine those reviews would scare you away. LA Fitness works great for me. Membership fee is only $35/mo (although I signed up when they first opened, it might be slightly higher now). My only problem with LA Fitness in general is their website doesn't tell you which facilities have which amenities. Ignore the personal trainers, which seems to be everyone else's problem with them. They work independently and are like car salesmen, but you don't have to do personal training (which is extra) to belong to the gym.

Pros: Convenient hours, economical, clean

Cons: website could allow for better searching

I wouldn't recommend working out here, they have a lot of equiptment, but good luck trying to use it, if it's not broken it's being used by somone else. The personal training there is a joke to. Don't waste your money..

Pros: none

{Body of Change is the personal training program at LA Fitness.} We are suffering some management changes. It's been really frustrating taking care of customer service problems. I have heard a lot of people say they are really frustrated. A lot of the trainers are unhappy too. It's not my job. Tough. And much, much more, were the comments that STAFF gave me as I tried to resolve my problems with attempting to use the Body of Change system at LA Fitness. It's a long story with a simple message: Don't sign up for Body of Change under any circumstances. It is a waste of your time and money and you'll really regret it. Any positive reviews of this program that you may read here were probably written as marketing reviews. This review system does not allow me to give a zero or I would.

Pros: None, None, None

Cons: Poorly trained trnrs, No customer service, Lame workouts
