Wow waterworks!!!!!! A great place. Lots of fun, entertainment, and adventure. One of the best places in Disney, other than Epcot.

Long lines dampened the experience

I was impressed by how the rides and architecture made good use of the tropical theme, plus I loved the slides and floating in my inner tube down the lazy river running around the circumference of park. However, the giant wave pool?the park?s central attraction?was just way too intense for me. Plus, Typhoon Lagoon isn?t exempt from those Disney long lines, which are even less fun to wait in when you?re dripping wet. Weighing the pros and the cons, relaxing by my hotel pool won out as the more enjoyable experience.

The Appeal
Wild slides send guests whizzing by shipwreck scenery at this water park. Every half hour, boat whistles blow and a volcano erupts in a cooling frenzy. The mountain is also the source for many of the park's slides, including both of Humunga Kowabunga's altitude-challenging speed slides.

Facts and Features
Although it's a brief experience, snorkeling among live sharks and their little fish friends at the Shark Reef is a good way to break up the day. Meanwhile, the kids can soak themselves and each other at the interactive Ketchakiddie Creek. Typhoon Lagoon is a clever story set in a mellow, tropical setting--a great place to work on the requisite Florida tan.

THE WORLD'S BEST WATER PARK

I can not say enough about Typhoon Lagoon. The absolute world's best. Have actually bypassed the Disney parks and spents 2 weeks in the water park. Bought a years pass and came back 2 weeks earlier the following year and was able to still use the same pass. THE GREATEST WAVE POOL EVER.

• Pros: great h/c parking, good value late entry, clean, pleasant staff
• Cons: crowded in peak times, must get there early, not enough seating
