Dinner 2/08 Reservations for 6:05 showed up at 5:45 requested a window seat & was promptly seated just in time to see the gyser go off. Our waitress Sandrine was absolutely perfect! She went over the house specialties with us & pointed out a couple of her favorite wines. We sampled two & decided on the Witness Tree Pinot Noir. It was very good & reasonable at $57 a bottle. They brought out a basket of home baked bread which was SO good. For an appetizer we had the penn cove mussels in the fennel sauce. I really enjoyed the mix of the fennel taste with the mussels complimented by the wine. We did get ribbed as we left two lonely mussels left on the dish as we felt we just couldn't eat any more without ruining our dinner appetite.For dinner hubby had the wild salmon on the cedar plank with a pear sauce and a pear/smoked pork belly hash. The salmon was good, nothing too out of the ordinary by itself but with the pear sauce YUM! It was such a unique mix of tastes we both loved it.I had the scallops in a creamy corn sauce with bacon & fava beans. It was very good. The scallops were done just right & it was VERY tasty. Of course after the bread, appetizer & one large scallop I was stuffed as was hubby after half of his fish fillet. We took another ribbing from Sandrine when we asked for a to go box as it seemed we hardly touched our food. It did make a great midnight snack!We took our time & finished our wine & enjoyed the ambience. It's a very cozy feeling place, dimly lit but not too much so, tables aren't too close together & people actually did dress for dinner. We truly felt as if we were in a lodge in the mountains. The murals on the walls are beautiful, the tables are nicely set, the service was spot on! Total bill with tip was $164 but with our DDE card it was $136. Not overpriced & we left feeling like we had a very warm, cozy, spectacular romantic evening.

Cons: People dont know the meaning of " fine dining" leaving negative reviews

I've eaten at this restaurant 4 times over the years. In the past, it was amazing. The food was excellent, the service amazing, and the setting great- I felt like I was in a lodge in the northwest. My last experience in July 2007 was terrible. My first complaint came as I arrived back at the hotel after a long day at the parks. I was told at the front desk that there were tables available, but that I'd have to wear a shirt with a collar as it was "business casual." Starving, we went to our room, got cleaned up, and returned to the restaurant. Sure enough, there was a sign at the podium explaining the required attire. But when we were seated, we realized that 90% of the customers were in shorts and t-shirts. We ordered our meal, and one of my friends questioned the waiter about dairy products in the food (he's allergic). When his fish came, it was mixed with risotto and full of cheese. He returned it, and the waiter brought out one of the chefs. The chef appologized, but argued with us that it was common knowledge that risotto had a cheese base (sorry, it's not a staple in my house). He then brought a replacement dish of mashed potatoes that were made with milk, cream, cheese, and sour cream. What part of "no dairy" didn't he understand. It was enough to ruin the meal, and not something you'd expect to have happen at a restaurant of this calibre. The food is generally great-- but the kitchen and waitstaff are certainly showing some failings.

Since the last review of this restaurant was in 2002, I'm wondering if they have a new chef and new management, because our experience was much different than those listed. My husband and I took my daughter to the Cub's Den Children's Program at Wilderness Lodge so we could have a romantic evening at Artist Point. Nothing about this restaurant is romantic -- it's noisy, bright and crowded. The food was average -- venison spring rolls didn't taste like venison, bisque was rich, but needed salt and pepper. Mushroom quiche with the tenderloin was soggy. The tenderloin and bernaise were excellent, but this is a very expensive restaurant for an average experience. Also, dirty dishes sat on the table for far too long. There are many better restaurants throughout Walt Disney World and Orlando.

Cons: Service, Crowded, Overpriced

I LOVE Artists Point. The pasta with fresh veggies is my favorite meal ANYWHERE. We always eat there when we go to Florida!

I have to say that when it comes to a 'GREAT' dinner, the Artist Point is certainly worth the trip. As titled, the salmon is the best. I have not once eaten here and not been completely satisfied. From the bread with their spreads, the appetizers, to the main meal. The drinks are also good. With a great assortment of so many different tastes. If you enjoy trying something new, you will find it here. I have had quail, elk sausage, venison, rabbit, ostrich, and others that I cannot even remember, and enjoyed them all. I cannot say enough about this place. I also recommend staying in the hotel, you will be hooked. It is located in the Wilderness Lodge, on Disney property. The kids will love it too. The service, of course, is hard to beat. But this is common anywhere you go in Disney.

Have eaten here several times and while a little pricey, the food is wonderful. You feel like you are in the great Northwest area of the US. The venison with berry sauce was incredible, the salmon exquisite. Have not had one bad or mediocre meal there. Already have rservations for next week while we are visiting the area.
