Editorial Review for Kennywood Park – by Bob Braughler

Overview
In an era when sterile mega-parks dominate, Kennywood remains a throwback to a simpler time. Clean and friendly, the park delights with charming, old-fashioned buildings and lush plantings. And while it could probably rake in a lot more cash by requiring visitors to buy park food, it still maintains a large number of picnic pavilions that are available for everyone to use--from families to large corporate functions.

The Experience
With five major coasters, "little" Kennywood is a major name in the minds of coaster enthusiasts. The Thunderbolt's first and last dips are intense, as are the major lateral G-force-inducing bends. The Jack Rabbit's unique double-dip gives riders an incredible feeling of hang time. The park's only steel coaster, Phantom's Revenge, zips thrill-seekers around at 82 mph. Hot days are made cooler by the Log Jammer, Raging Rapids and Pittsburgh Plunge.

Well im only 19 and i have been going to kennywood since i was little. I love going to kennywood. for about 9 years in a row my family and i went to kennywood as a family tradition. Well one year we got kicked out but it was our own stupidity but anyways if you want to feel like a young person again you will go to kennywood. Its expensive but its worth going. Kennywood made me decide to become Amusement Park Authestisant (its spelled wrong i know). So once I am done with my college thats what I want to do. I love going watching the people and seeing old friends who i haven't seen in awhile. I hope this year my family and I will go once again. I love being a kid at kennywood. So try riding the "green ride" which is the Phantom's Revenage if you are afraid of roller coasters thats what got my roommate over that fear. So go to Kennywood this summer!!!!

Pros: Parking is wonderful, food is great and you always have fun

Cons: expensive

I have been to countless amusement parks around the world. From america and canada to europe, and the middle east last month (Qatar). I have never experienced a better amusement park anywhere. The atmosphere Kennywood is more magical than Disney World. Truthfully. Kennywood has some of the best riddes anywhere. The Phantom rocks, the Racers are the only single track racing coaster left, the double dip of the Jack Rabbit, and, well, everything about the THUNDERBOLT (the best ride anywhere, period) The food by itself is worth the trip. PATATO PATCH FRIES are the best anywhere. I remember going with my grandmother to the park and hearing her stories of her favorite rides. Also of where she met my grandfather. I had my first kiss in Kennywood. The park is the cleanest I've ever been too as well. Being away from Pa, it brings tears of joy to my eye to think of Kennywood and all the fond memories that it has brought to me through the years. I truley miss Kennywood. THE WORLD'S FINEST TRADITIONAL AMUSEMENT PARK. Six flags and Cedar Point are small potatoes that quiver in the shadow of this small Pennsylvania park. Long Live Kennywood!

Pros: Atmosphere, Rides, Food, Memories, Clean, Safe, Friendly - If it rains and the rides are shut down for 2 hours, you can get a refund. Six Flags would never do that.

Cons: HA!
