Editorial Review for Memory Lane – by Lisa Ferguson
The Scene
Inside the sunny yellow exterior, this dusty, narrow and dimly lit antique store is a repository for everyday household items from the '40s, '50s and '60s. Every corner is filled with furniture and curios, and the sheer volume can be daunting, but friendly help from owner Steve Brown makes it navigable.
The Goods
Items vary from practical to purely kitsch. There's also a fascinating array of old appliances, such as vacuums and blenders, and an extensive collection of pedal-powered kiddy cars suspended from the ceiling. Though many must-have finds are tucked into nooks and crannies, the cramped interior makes shopping a challenge. It's best to call ahead if you're looking for anything specific, and don't let the threadbare rug underfoot fool you--prices are competitive with most antique stores in town.
