Okay hotel, bad service.
I've been to Florida three times so far, & I've been to this hotel twice. Its a pretty okay hotel. They renovated it, & the hotel looks better now. If you go & get a room here I recommend getting the Disney View, pretty view & its better than no room at all.
This hotel though is kinda expensive. $350 a night for the Disney View. You can find waaaay cheaper hotels that are by the Disney area. After all your not going to go see the hotel, your going to see the attractions.
The good thing about this hotel is that they give you transportation to all the Disney parks, & downtown Disney. Plus transportation to & from the hotel. Its 15 for each person I think. A one time pay.
Downtown Disney is really, really fun. I loved it. Tons of giftshops & kiosks, & restaurants as well.
You have to get a cab if you want to go to Universal though. & Seaworld as well. 25 for Universal & its 30 something for Seaworld. Universal Studios in Florida is waaaay bigger & more fun than the one in California. Seaworld is really fun too.
Now on to the service.
Simply put, its bad.
The hotel made us wait for 45 minutes for a transportation bus that never came. So we complained & then they told us oh no no no wait another 30 minutes it should come.
We waited..no bus.
So the hotel offered us a 3 night stay at a for free Sheraton Hotel the next time we came to Florida. Good enough right?
Not really considering they CHARGED my mom 600 dollars on her credit card.
My mom called the credit card company & they took the charge off thankfully.
The hotel is alright, but the service not so much.
Editorial Review. Downtown Disney hotel provides easy access to the theme parks along with three heated pools and six restaurants.
Old & tired. My husband planned our Orlando vacation months in advance. He even planned what he thought would be the perfect luxury hotel stay while enjoying a night out at downtown Disney. Was he scammed! Our room was horrible. Not to get into detail because that would probably get this review dropped, suffice it to say the room was awful, smelly and nothing worked. We finally got the charges dropped (not without a fight) because they wouldn't put us in the room we had thought we booked & in that case we were not staying. We escaped back to the The Beach by Disney which could not have been more different than our experience at the Wyndham. The worst part is that we wrote the manager and corporate. The manager at least responded with a form letter of condolence. After several tries of snail mail and email & Wyndham corporate never responding (it became a joke after awhile) we were disgusted by the lack of response. Orlando has plenty of other hotels that live up to their claims and promises.
old. It is a nice hotel/resort in a good location. Good service. Good facilities. The only thing I complained is the room. The room didn't look like a 5-star hotel room at all. It looked old inside and very very dark (only couple small lights)
