Wow! Great BBQ!. Wow! Had some great BBQ today at the 4 month old 4R Smokehouse on Fairbanks today! Got a tip from a friend to plan waiting in line. I figured a constant line of people at the door can't be wrong. They served us samples as we stood in line to order. The brisket and pulled pork were great. And the sauce ain't bad either.... The sweet potato casserole and the cheese grits were extra good. And the management was giving 50% of their profits to Haiti relief.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Barbeque connoisseurs and locals stand in long lines for finger-licking, Texas-style barbeque at this Winter Park restaurant. Customers wait to order items on the menu for dining on the covered outdoor porch’s picnic-style tables and benches or for takeout. The décor has bull horns above the door and a folksy Americana feel with metal stars and a wooden piece of artwork representing the flag. The smokehouse’s owner John Rivers has spent the past 20 years creating recipes and the past five years perfecting his barbeque sauce. Menu items include the signature Angus beef brisket, Southern pulled pork, Texas sausage, prime rib, smoked chicken and turkey and St. Louis-style ribs. Southern delicacies include fried pickles and bacon-wrapped jalapenos.
The Best Bar-B-Que in Orlando.
I was intrigued when I drove by multiple times to see a line outside of 4 Rivers every time I drove by.
When I finally had the time to brave the line we were greeted by the owner, Mr. Rivers who apologized for the wait and suggested that we call ahead next time we ordered (and there will definitely be a next time).
I ordered the Beef brisket and a side of cole slaw. The brisket was the best I have ever had. it was great. I have been unhappy with the Bar-B-Que choices in Orlando but now that has all changed. The cole slaw and my girlfriends' side were just ok. Seems like they need to spend as much time on them as they do on the meat, but besides that I can't complain one bit.
I definitely recommend it but suggest you call ahead, especially if you are in a hurry.
No so great. Lines were out the door. Wife not feeling well. Asked if I could order at window and take home. Was told NO it was only for phone in orders. Ok, I sat down and phoned in my order. 10 min later I went to the window to pay for my order and just let them know I was there. Girl at window said ok but would not allow me to pay for order. I sat back down. Another gentleman came to the window and said," I know what I want can I just order here?" Same girl says sure and rings him up takes his money and tells him his $70 order would be about 5-10 min. Was I fuming?? YES, now I was. I went back to the window and girl says we have not started on your order, it will be another 20 minutes. I asked why she said I could not order at the window when she clearly allowed someone else to? No answer! I only ordered two sandwiches. NO THEY WILL NO LONGER HAVE MY BUSINESS. I Cancelled the order. I do hope she is the owner/manager since it will be her business that suffers from word of mouth. Other people sitting around thought it was senseless as well. You never know who you are slighting or who is watching!
