Circa...reason to go, or not – If you want old sea food and nasty customer service from the owner, this is a great place to go, certainly more so for Valentine's Day.
Fellas, I’d recommend taking your girl here for the following reasons:
1. The owner will make you look like a hero; your behavior could never be so abrasive
2. Your date will never complain that you don’t pay attention to her
3. A few polite comments will make you look like a champ
Okay, now you must be asking how I came up with above. I’ll keep it short as other reviews appear to mirror my concern about the owner’s decorum. My girlfriend orders the “seafood taster.” When the dish comes out, its smells fishy, and by fishy I’m being polite...so, I ask the owner, “hey, is this dish a little fishy?” He replies, “Oh, it just has an odor, it’s fine.” So, figuring he knows the food business better than I or my girlfriend do, we take his word for it. A few minutes later she’s in the restroom vomiting. Yea, what a great date. Then, I ask the waitress, who was very nice, to send the owner over. 20 minutes later…me asking the waitress three times to send him over… he finally arrives. Rather than asking if he can do anything when I tell him the issue, he tells me the fish is fine and then lectures me on the effects and how long it takes of food poisoning to kick in. What a prince this guy is.
In conclusion, if you want to look like a champ by default, take your girl here. Further, if you don’t believe the above, read the other scathing reviews that reiterate my feelings about the owner.
CIRCA PUB – We had a wonderful lunch in the more casual side of Circa, named Circa Pub. Sitting outside sipping champagne in their adorable courtyard that is placed in a back walkway of several lovely businesses, was a treat in itself on a beautiful day.
Carlos was extremely personable and a very attentive waiter/bartender. Our food was fantastic.. the Bruschetta- one of the best we've had... Triple cheese Ravioli-excellent and my husband devoured the Rueben sandwich. The blackened Tilapia was a little too spicy for my tastes but husband loved it! All in all a delightful experience we highly recommend!
