Orlando’s see and be seen crowd with entourage in tow hang at this upscale, dimly lit restaurant and bar combo situated on the ground floor of The Sanctuary, a high-rise condominium complex in Thornton Park. Formerly The Beacon, the managing partner Wayne Maingot thought the venue’s exterior resembled a mansion hence the name was born. The interior is the same as its predecessor--comfy, copper-colored high-back, modern, cushioned chairs, attached lamp shades hanging from the ceiling and shell lamps above a hidden nook area. Additions include flat-screen TVs for sports viewing. The menu, on the other hand, has changed and is moderately priced and features sautéed pork chops, citrus Mahi-Mahi, sandwiches, salads and delectable desserts.
