I celebrated my 67th birthday with
dinner and friends at Colibri. It was really enjoyable. We sat inside (unfortunately because of the weather - hot and rainy). We started out with the Guacamole and chips appetizer which were fresh and tasty. Then I had the Chimichanga plate which was absolutely delicious and very filling. Our server (Gaby) was wonderful - especially considering that there were 2 two-year olds with us who were a "little" messy. Gaby was very attentive throughout the meal and couldn't have been more helpful. It was a very enjoyable evening that helped make my birthday very memorable..

I enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio
outside, looking at the moonlit lake and cooled by a soft breeze. The taco dish was tasty and authentic Mexican style. Fresh ingredients and lean meat. Elvira was the perfect waitress: there when needed but didn't hover. Plus, she was prompt in checking us out; which is becoming rare. This was dinner after an Orlando Magic basketball game, but would be a nice spot for a date.

This restaurant is located on Lake
Baldwin and if you sit outside you have lakefront dining. The guacamole is to die for and the chips and salsa are excellent.
The vegetable quesadilla is my all-time favorite and the fajitas salad is also amazing. If you come between five and seven the happy hour is really good. Two dollar margaritas and their good!!

My favorite restaurant in Orlando!
Absolutely superb food & service. Interesting menu combined with well versed waiters who will tell you everything about what you ordered - from its origins to what's in it & how it's prepared. Great dining experience. Fun ambiance and a real people place.

Authentic Mexican Cuisine.
What I know.
I go to Colibri fairly often (several times a week) since I live in Baldwin Park. It's authentic Mexican cuisine and it's good. The family who owns Colibri is from Mexico and the cooks (most important) are from Mexico. This isn't Tex Mex - it's real Mexican food. The food portions are huge and you certainly won't go away hungry. The prices are definitely reasonable and, unlike other places, you won't go broke if you take your family out to eat at Colibri. It's also a great place to have birthday parties, I recently celebrated my 65th there, and to celebrate special events.
The fact that the restaurant is right on Lake Baldwin makes outside dining really special. That is, of course, when Florida's Mother Nature cooperates.
Colibri is great for lunch, particularly when you don't have a lot of time and have to get back to work (I remember those days - before I retired!). You get your meal quickly so your boss doesn't yell at you for coming back late.
The drinks are awesome and you definitely get your money's worth here. I frequently sit at the bar (I'm that old, beer bellied Gringo, usually sitting in the far left seat at the bar) and often watch the drinks being made. These are most definitely very good pours.
The service is good - not perfect - but good and getting better every day. The staff are pleasant, helpful and attentive and will go out of their way to accommodate you.
Would I recommend Colibri? Absolutely. I guess the fact that I go there so often is the best recommendation that I can make.

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Urbanites and those with a taste for cuisine South of the border converge at this authentic Mexican restaurant in Baldwin Park. Menu options include chicken enchiladas suizas with black beans and rice, fajitas and a shrimp quesadilla paired with Mexican beer or a margarita. The cozy eatery is decorated with a dark and light blue tiled water fountain and black tables with its namesake the hummingbird amongst orange faux painted walls adorned with artwork of the homeland and ceramic vases. A mariachi band gets the joint jumpin’ Thursday through Saturday night inside or on the outdoor patio overlooking Lake Baldwin.
