Right Idea but Poorly Executed.
While Lago has a nice view of Lake Baldwin and is nicely decorated, finer service and more reasonable prices are found elsewhere. Most of my employees prefer Jack's as the premiere restaurant in Baldwin Park, but I took a chance and went to Lago out of curiosity. The food was decent, but a tad pricey - though not unreasonable. I had a valid gift check that was not honored. Just a "special touch" at the end of a meal to really have a lasting impression. Other than the view, I recommend Jack's for Baldwin Park. If you seek customer oriented service with a view, maybe Hillstone/Houston's or Enzo's. I'd be surprised if Lago stays in business with this customer treatment.

Savory dishes from the sea make a splash at this hidden Baldwin Park restaurant..
Seafood gets the Italian treatment at this contemporary boite built for romantic rendezvous. Salmon, snapper, ahi tuna and pasta faves command the menu and entice urban palates. An elaborate, oceanic passage continues with wave-like lines complemented by comfy, yet modern furnishings. Diners grab a table or booth, order a bottle of wine and watch the chef in the open kitchen. Adding to the seduction is the patio, where couples take in the picturesque view of Lake Baldwin, along with the sinewy joggers passing by.
