Ember is a nice place to hang downtown.
Great happy hour prices and fun atmosphere. If you use the restaurant (dotcom) certificate or another coupon it becomes and AWESOME bargain. This place is definitely worth checking out.

Not as good as it could be.
I was drawn in by the promise of great food and wine for Ember's Winesday promotion but was disappointed on counts. The space is lovely but the staff and food fall far short.

Forget booking a cruise and embark on a Mediterranean dining and drinking journey in downtown Orlando..
In Short
Experience a luxurious bar and restaurant that has a high-end island feel minus the pretentiousness. The venue, formerly Kate O'Brien's Irish Pub, was transformed by local designers for 3.2 million dollars. The bar has a 7,500-square-foot outdoor patio - the largest in downtown Orlando - where DJs spin amongst palm trees and portico bar stations. Food selections include flatbreads, sliders and pasta that can be paired with draft or bottled beer, liquor or wine in Mediterranean environs.

Missing one thing.
I can't understand why someone would open up a brand new, beautiful bar and not have any draft beer. It's moronic! Are the owners trying to be annoying? I get that they are going for a more 'upscale', Mediterranean concept. But I've been to the Mediterranean, and about 100% of the bars have draft beer even if it's just one tap of Nastra or Peroni. I've also been to plenty of four star restaraunts in New York, and they have draft beer too. Besides, how upscale can you be with six flat screens above the bar playing football. Otherwise this is a great looking bar. In all honesty though, if someone brought up going to this place I would suggest somewhere else. There is something special about that first sip of a cold refreshing pint of draft beer that you don't get in a bottle.

Ladies Keep YOur Husbands Close!.
So I was very excited about the opening of Ember. The atmoshpere was great and the drinks weren't too outrageous BUT what was OUTRAGEOUS was the server we had! Her name was Ashley and we recognized her from my husband and I's other favorite hangout, Wildside Bar B.Q. & Grill. She was sweet at first but as the drinks kept rolling so did her obvious interest in my husband. It was as if she did not even consider that he was with his wife! Her flirting became more extreme and she began to become touchy feely with him making both of us VERY uncomfortable!!! She constantly ignored my requests to refill my drinks and paid all of her attention to MY husband. She was blatenley rude to me and rolled her eyes everytime I asked her for anything. To my dismay, when I was coming back from the ladies room, I noticed her leaning into my husband saying something to him. She gave me a nasty look and walked away. I asked him what that was all about and he said we needed to leave a.s.a.p.! When we got in the car he said that Ashley had told him that if he ever wanted to cheat on his wife to give her a call and had slipped her phone number in his pocket! I was further enraged when I learned that she told him that she gives the best "Bl@w jobs" in town and frequently pleased her regulars at Wildside! My husband and I are disgusted with the service we got there and feel that Ember needs to rid themselves of someone who sells herself in such a way at their establishment. We will NOT be returning until her employment is terminated!
