Editorial Review for Dan Marino's Tavern on the Lake – by Elisha Pappacoda

In Short
The dining room is cavernous and warmly lit, adorned with three live ficus trees and decor that resembles stacks of elegant wooden Jenga blocks. The bar boasts flat screen TVs and offers 100 beers, 40 wines and a full selection of liquor. The patio is reminiscent of a South Beach cabana, with flowing curtains, plush lounge chairs and fire pits overlooking the lake. Try the Grilled Double Cut Pork Chop or the chicken sandwich, a thick breaded cutlet with melted gouda cheese and green apples.

User Reviews for Dan Marino's Tavern on the Lake

2 Star Rating: Below Average

First let me say that the entire restaurant is beautiful. My husband and I were big fans of Dan Marino's other restaurant which was on International Drive and thought we would try the Tavern on the Lake. We ate outside which is very comfortable as well. Our server was very pleasant and on top of things but was paying too much attention to another table which had more patrons which left us waiting a good length of time. Although we are not typical drinkers, we thought our drinks were extremely small and weak for the price and did not carry over the quality from the International Drive restaurant. My husband sent his drink back twice. Our meals were delicious but again, we were still hungry (and we are petite eaters). Again, the portion size does not compare to what was given at the International Drive restaurant. As a matter of fact, we ordered an appetizer "after" dinner???? This restaurant would be a great first date spot but overall, I don't we would go again. Too much money to leave hungry.

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Left hungry
