Fantastic Father's Day Dinner. We were visiting Orlando over Father's Day and my brother-in-law got to choose the restaurant from those recommended by the folks at our hotel's front desk. He picked Johnnie's Hideaway because of the martini glasses on the sign :-). It was an excellent choice. The menu is varied - they have steaks and seafood, with lots of choice for appetizers and deserts. My niece wanted to try frog and they will let you order just one. As mentioned, the salad is unique, with potatoes and olives (or not, my sister does not like olives and they made hers without). I had the scallops and they were delicious - large and very flavorful. One of our party had a steak and said it was great. The vegetable side dishes are very large - definitely enough to share. They have a very good selection of wines and beers, and even had Conundrum by the glass! After dinner we had no room for desert, and our waitress suggested we take one home so we ordered the Key Lime Pie, which was wonderful. Our waitress was great, very personable, and the prices are reasonable. A perfect choice for Father's Day, and my brother-in-law enjoyed his martini that included olives stuffed with blue cheese.
two steaks and i was out..... I have come here to eat several times, never a bad meal, until this past weekend. i asked for the aged angus, 28 oz medium, pink in middle. i got a fully cooked, no pink inside steak, so sent it back and got another; this one was so tuff to chew i finally had to call it a night, the mngr was kind enough to deduct it off our check. He did tell me that on occassion they have a bad cut but, i was quite dissapointed. Next time will try one of the more than dozen other steak houses in the area, i think that this particular one has lost its flare at least for now. The price is just too high to waste more time hoping for a good cut. When you pick the most expensive one, and even ask the waiter for advise and it comes to the table bad, well....moving on....
Best steak and seafood, period. We started with shrimp cocktail.......biggest shrimp ever. Next came the salads.......very tastey with wonderful little surprises. Our main course was filet mignon, along with a lobster tail, shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake.......yummy! The service was wonderful. Simply the best ever! Better than Charleys! Highly recommend!
awesome seafood.
Everything about Johnnie's Hideaway is fantastic. The seafood is phenomenal. The shrimp we ordered were GIGANTIC.
Did I mention that the Happy Hour Specials are GREAT?
I will definitely be returning to Johnnie's Hideaway!
The Best Seafood and Steaks I Have Ever Had. The atmosphere was amazing from the start. The restaurant is very well put together, I watch Gordon Ramsey all the time, and he would put his seal of approval on Johnnie's Hideaway. The Dry Aged Boned Ribeye was more than amazing and it is big enough for a party of two. I also have the BLT salad and the Lobster Mac and Cheese, which was nothing like my mom used to make. Don't tell my mom, but this is some of the best food I have ever had. If you don't eat here, I promise that you will be missing a very great opportunity for great tasting food.
Best Happy Hour in Orlando!.
Every day of the week from 5:00 to7:00 Johnny’s Hideaway at Crossroads has Happy Hour with $4 drinks are really yummy hors d’ oeuvres. The salmon “nacho” is a tuna tartar on a rice cracker with seaweed and wasabi caviar and you get 2 for $1. The shrimp were HUGE, I think were only $1 each and oysters on the half shell are only $5 a dozen. There was calamari and I’m sure a few other things that I missed, but these were the things I ordered and LOVED!
The raw bar chef was helpful and friendly and the waiters were on top of our needs, it’s a great place!

Fresh Fish at its best. This was a great restaurant. Great service and food. Had madagasgar shrimp and a crab meat cocktail--too good to be true. My husband had the bone in ribeye--enough for two. I had the grouper with a crab and shrimp sauce-my family after being home for 3 days is still talking about it. We are in the NY metro area and I have never eaten at a restaurant like this one. Whatever your taste is fish - meat- chicken all fabulous
