Absolutely Terrible!!!. Honestly, Worst Ever! We went in about a month ago to try this restaurant because we had never been there before, on top of being given a gift certificate (good for $35 dollars) They had 1 server, and 2 "cooks" in the back. All seemed young. Like, college kids. Fine. We had No problem with that. Upon placing our orders, we gave the gift certificate to the server. The certificate had "no expiration date" stamped on it. He said "Oh, ok. Sure, you can use this". We ordered 2 beers and talked for a while. It took at least 30-40 minutes for the food to come out and when it did, it was extremely bland and cheap tasting. Honestly, so bad, We couldn't even finish our plates (and by this time, we were hungry). When we wanted our check, the server was nowhere to be found. We waited about 15 minutes more before I stood up to see him leaning against the counter (in the back) chatting with the other 2 workers. Waved my hand to alert him that we wanted to “square up/wanted the bill” and were ready to leave. His exact words were "Oh yeah, I was just getting that"...... I about laughed so hard in disbelief. (he didn't even know we had been finished for 15 minutes!!) He brings the check back for the full amount and said he'd credit the gift certificate once he ran the card. Comes back about 10 minutes later with the check. Quickly handed us the bill and says "Sorry, we can't accept the gift certificate. I'm sorry" as he quickly and nervously backed up and walked away. He explained nothing. I looked at the bill, and of course he had run the card for the FULL BALANCE of the bill. We were soo angry, but confused at the same time. My girlfriend was soo embarrassed, she was afraid I'd start a scene. She just wanted to forget about it and leave. I was so angry and felt we'd been "duped". Like what he had done was sneaky - Accepting the certificate at the beginning, bringing the full balance check back while saying he'd credit the certificate once running the card, and returning with the full balance already charged on the card and nervously walking away while saying they couldn't accept it. I only chose not to ruin our night by confronting them on this matter ONLY because I could tell she was "worked up/embarrassed/nervous". We started walking out. The waiter stood in the far back and (to my surprise) actually had the nerve to suggest that we "come back next month because they'll have new entrees". I told him. "Don't count on it and that we'd never be back". So.... To sum it up: This place is a joke! Our experience there was bizarre and awkward to say the least.Worst dining experience ever! Hands Down. Wouldn't even go back if given free food for a year. Quite honestly, you'd get better food and service at “Fazoli's” if they were still around. And for those of you that don't know of them, they're considered Fast Food Italian. Food: Absolutely horrible. Basic and Cheap at very best. Unoriginal in every way. Lacked flavor bigtime. Service: Slow and unattentive. Décor: Cheap and run down. Please Do yourself a huge favor and try a different place. There are so many great inexpensive Italian restaurants in the orlando area to choose from that are comparable in price, but are far far superior to Amalfi's in terms of service and quality of food (II Pescatore and Lido's just to name two). GOODBYE FOREVER AMALFI'S!! I only remembered you because I had been meaning to write this review.

Best Italian in Town. A nice, quaint atmosphere, friendly and beautiful servers, and the best italian food you'll get outside Brooklyn. Everything is good because all the ingredients are first class. The pasta is imported, the sauces and bread (great garlic rolls!) are homemade, and they also have the best homemade salad dressing. I'm not even going to start on the pizza!

Definetely one of these "insiders only" places.
