I was told it’s “the place”. I scheduled a facial at College Park. I arrived five minutes before my appointment expecting the opportunity to change into a robe, enjoy some refreshment and relax. My expectations were way too high! I’ve visited spas in five star hotels, boutique spas and had services provided beachside, at none was I left in an open waiting area, not offered so much as water (glad I brought my own) and basically ignored. Employees were milling around, not one acknowledging my presence. I waited, waited and waited. Twenty five minutes after my appointment time, Amanda walked past me saying she would be right with me. Five minutes later, as I was getting ready to walk out, call my credit card company to put them on notice (a credit card guarantee to book), Amanda came out asking if I was ready. My response-Yes, for the past twenty five minutes, since my appointment time. She apologized saying she would make it up by some extra pampering. Well, I didn't get my full fifty minutes of pampering, much less extra. At the end of forty five minutes, I timed it, she was done. What she did was great, my skin feels phenomenal, don't offer something you aren’t going to deliver. My disappointment wasn’t in the product, but the overall experience. A little more personalization from reception would be a plus along with the service provider being more punctual. I felt more welcomed at the Red Door Salon in Manhattan than here (for those of you have not been there, they are a bunch of snobs who are there to up-sell). Maybe I just got them on a bad day (Friday). No one tried to push product on me which was refreshing. Product informatin was offered when I asked. If you don’t mind professionals who aren’t punctual, have never had a spa experience, have nothing to compare or don’t mind being ignored by the staff of a business, this is the place for you. If you are a seasoned spa goer, set your expectations low and enjoy the challenge.

I recently discovered The Beauty Spot from a promotion they ran offering all these great services - facial, manicure, pedicure, massage, etc. - really super deal! ...So, I just have to say, every service was awesome!! Especially my facial.. Amanda rocks! The best part about it... The awesome jeans I found there! & they have my fave brand, Free People! Beware to any shop-a-holics because they have some of the coolest clothes ever! Reminds me of Threads on Park Ave, but better! Jill did my manicure & pedicure, & my nail color stayed much longer than usual. I can't wait to go back and bring some friends!
