Bodacious barbeque awaits at this family-owned restaurant in Winter Park. The venue was formerly Harper’s Tavern in its heyday and features black-and-white photos of the previous business throughout the establishment. The bar later split and became Harper’s Tavern and the French restaurant Le Cordon Bleu but closed after a fire and re-opened years later without much success. The new inhabitants’ specialties include sliced barbeque beef, pork and chicken and ribs smoked over hickory and covered with the secret sauce. The eatery has a sports-bar atmosphere and is where Rollins College students and locals hang to watch the game on numerous flat-screen TVs. The other sections are lodge-looking, complete with wood, buck heads on the wall and a fireplace for those occasional cold, Florida nights.
