I had a similar experience to the previous reviewer and was simply appalled with the customer service at this place. Considering people go to a salon and spa to get pampered and relax, you would think they would put a little more emphasis on the customer experience.
I too bought a Groupon for a couples massage for a Valentine's Day gift. I went through the same difficulty getting an appointment; it took multiple calls and a few days before I was able to set one. And then after I finally got one, while on our way to our appointment, I received a call that one of the masseuses was sick and that we would have to reschedule. I understand that people get sick, but I was a bit thrown off that they waited until just minutes before the appointment to call. They then could not give me a definite response when I could reschedule and said they would call me back that day. They did not so I called again the next day. Again, no call back. I got to go through the same ridiculous motions to reschedule an appointment as I did setting it the first time.
The second try at our massages was even worse. We arrived a few minutes early to the same disheveled receptionist that the previous reviewer mentioned. As we walked up to check in, another untidy woman walked over and quietly said to her in a somewhat panicked tone, “we don’t have another masseuse here!” Even though I had confirmed the appointment, they somehow did not have it. Then, yet another woman, dressed like she was getting into bed, walked over (I assumed the manager). Right from the start everything they said to us was with an attitude, like it was somehow our fault that they did not have our appointment. They then told me that my Groupon was already used because I was a no-show for the last appointment. After I, as nicely as possible, explained that it was actually them that canceled on us when we were minutes away (which for somereason they did not believe), they said they guessed they could fit us in an hour later so we should go get something to eat and come back. All along having extreme attitude. I was so annoyed and in shock of how unprofessional and rude these people had been that there was no way I was going to be able to enjoy a massage. I told them that I did not want to give them my business so thank you but I will contact Groupon to have it canceled and refunded. The one woman then had the nerve to threaten me that I would not get my money back because Groupon would see that it was already used. Needless to say, I got my money back, because fortunately, unlike the Jon Ric Salon and Day Spa, Groupon has phenomenal customer service.
I will never give this place my business! And if you are looking for an enjoyable salon and/or spa experience, DON’T GO HERE!
Definitely will not return..
I bought a 1-hour couples massage from Jon Ric Salon and Day Spa in Altamonte Springs through Groupon as a Valentine's Day gift for my fiance. I was very excited for this experience but was very disappointed when the day finally came. First let me say that I called the salon at the number listed on their website for TWO DAYS to make the appointment; nobody answered (I literally called every 30 minutes to an hour and would be more than happy to show my call log to any nay sayers). This alone should have alerted me that I wasn't dealing w/ a very professional staff. After emailing Groupon to tell them that I would be forced to request a refund if I were unable to get in touch with the salon, I FINALLY got some service in the way of an answered phone call and set my appointment for 1 o'clock three weeks from that date. In the duration of the phone call, I clarified THREE TIMES that my appointment was for 1 o'clock on the day.
Once I got to the salon to redeem my Groupon, I was immediately thrown off by the appearance of their receptionist. At first I wasn't even sure that she was an employee there because she was dressed in ratty sweats with no makeup and frizzy hair. To be very blunt she was quite dumpy looking. This struck me as incredibly unprofessional (this is the first person that comes into contact with your clients for God's sake!). She proceeded to tell me that they had been trying to call me all morning at an incorrect number to inform me that my appointment was actually at 12 o'clock (the woman I had spoken to had somehow managed to take my phone number down incorrectly despite the fact I'd called them exactly 19 times before that day). She said that she MIGHT be able to reschedule me "because your appointment was actually scheduled at 11 o'clock." This is THREE different appointment times at this point!! She assured me that they may be able to keep the appointment that I "claimed to have set" in the event of a cancellation, which did fortunately happen.
We were asked to take a seat while she looked into things and while we were waiting observed a woman come in for a hair appointment who apparently had a miscommunication with the salon about HER appointment as well.
In the end, my fiance and I got our massages at the time we originally scheduled and our masseurs were very sweet and made us quite comfortable. However, I am a very busy person. I work full-time and attend school full time and as it is very difficult to schedule time for things like this, I cannot put my trust and effort into a business that clearly has so much work to do in the way of organization and professionalism.
James is the bomb hairstylist. Went to Jon Ric Salon for a japanese straightener and was put with James. What a miracle worker he is, my hair was just horrible ugly curls everywhere. James gave me a bio Ionic japanese straightener and OMG my hair is now just wonderful. James let me know step by step what was going on through the whole process I felt so comfortable and confident with James his educational skills are top notch. I just shampooed my hair for the first time and my hair is incredible. I did not even have to blowdry it and it is perfectly straight and not a frizz anywhere. I can't wait to go back and see James for my hilites and lowlites with the way my hair turned out the first time the second can only be better.
