Village CoffeePot: A decent shop, but still unprofessional
by Sainder
The place was okay, but the service was not when I first walked in there, the employees were way in the back sitting down instead of being up front. When they came up front they did not give me a very warm welcoming. I ordered a double scoop Vanilla ice cream and the employee there gave me a very small scoop when I asked for a double scoop. She said that is how much we put in a double scoop. So I really had high hopes for Village Coffeepot and it let me down. If i were you I would not waste my time with this unprofessional business.
- Pros: decent coffee
- Cons: bad workers, bad service,
Shady business practices or bad barista?

I had high hopes for Village Coffee with its small "homegrown" feel and cute design. As I looked through the menu, first thought that came to my mind was they offered only one size for their coffee beverages. Also, when I asked for nonfat milk, they informed me that they didn't carry it. With these two bits of information, I imagined that this was probably not a "real" coffee shop, BUT the commercial coffee bean grinder in the corner full of beans made me re-think that. What happened next can only be described as what I think are "shady business practices." I ordered an iced vanilla latte and was handed practically an iced coffee with a splash of milk and two pumps of vanilla syrup. I could tell this was an iced coffee because 1. the espresso machine was never touched and 2. She poured about 8oz of (ALREADY MADE) coffee into a cup and added a "splash" of milk to it.
Being a barista myself, I knew exactly the difference between an iced coffee vs an iced latte. When I told her that I believed she had made me an iced coffee the girl said "no its espresso" and proceeded to charge me $4 for my "latte". Never again.
