good luck getting your food. Food is good, service is TERRIBLE!!!! The continually get your order wrong or just don't make it when you call it in. Last three times we've ordered the food was not made twice and the order while dining was completely wrong. I guess this is what happens when liberals are in charge of something.
Is there a better Pizza anywhere in Orlando?. Not that I have found. The reviews complaining about service are bizarre as I have not experienced anything near what they are describing. Also keep in mind the theme and nature of this restaurant is displayed in its name "Mellow". It's a relaxed, chilled environment and that actually one of the reasons people keep coming back.
Great All Around. Have been several times, always great service form the staff, very knowledgeable on the beers. Food is great, tried all the pizzas, my best is building my own. Took several friends to try Mellow for their first time, now they are regulars. A little pricey, but you pay for the quality of the food.
Great Pizza, Horrible Service. I get it, it's a cool pizza place. In fact, it looks like a cool place to work for teen and 20-something year olds. Having worked in the industry for several years, I still can't figure out why this place hasn't gotten it figured out by now. Sure, the product speaks for itself. But the service you receive at this place is just plain awful. In these economic times I find it troubling there are places that still refuse to give the extra effort, or in this case just do their job. This story didn't even involve food, I was unable to get anything on this occasion. My most recent event occured on a not-so-busy saturday night when we weren't even seated for over a half an hour because the host thought we left? Somehow he didn't check the waiting area which was tucked away behind the door. The best was after being sat we were ingnored for 10 minutes. All the while, watching the surplus of servers appear to be having a great time at work. I was beyond mad at this point and walked out. When all was said and done we wasted nearly an hour of a Saturday night and had to go to another restaurant. I would recommend the pizza any day of the week, but stick with the take-out. Maybe the UCF location is a little more on the mark, but this was the last time I will be at the Winter Park location
Mellow doesn't exist on a menu that's chock-full of Italian dishes and pizza selections..
In Short
Pizza and libations are what diners seek at this hippy-dippy themed, Atlanta-based pizzeria in Winter Park. Patrons can relax in a booth or grab a seat at the bar while noshing on a calzone or one of the bevy of pizza options. Others can watch the game at one of the many positioned flat-screen TVs that surround the restaurant. The eatery's décor features vibrant colors and has a cozy ambiance for families and those who love the 1970s.
Best Basic Pizza. I don't live near WP, but travel past it for work sometimes. Whenever I do I'm sure to stop by here for their cheese pizza. It is simple and delicious. I've had all their pizzas over the years and some of their sandwiches, but the cheese pizza is the best!
Best Pizza around. I was turned on to the Mellow Mushroom in Savannah, of all places. When I tried the one in Winter Park, it was everything that I had come to expect from the Mellow Mushroom. The crust has a great flavor (try finding ANY flavor in the crust of delivery pizza) and the sauce is tangy and not sweet like some places. The Toppings are always fresh and the beer selection is adequate (I usually stick with the Blue Moon). My wife and I can split a small and walk away full.
