We bought a Groupon for Laser Hair Removal and scheduled the appointment. On first visit they demanded $40 Doctor fee (although they do not have a doctor on the facility) and gratuity. so overall we paid $45 on our first visit.

On second visit, we were late by 4-5 minutes but they refused to offer us service. There was some Vivian and she said since we have Groupon, we must pay a mandatory gratuity (she was begging by authority). She asked us to leave the property and threatened to call the Police.

I wanted to resolve it by talking but it looked like she was not interested in offering us the service because she already got our money. When I asked to get a refund, she said you can contact the lawyers. She then dialed 911 and called the police. We left right before police came because I did not want a mess.

Long story short, Groupon should not sell this merchant thru their website.

Avoid this place if you are a normal person.

To those of you who had Groupon and did not get a good service, report this merchant to Groupon so that you could get your refund and Groupon does not sell this Merchant in future.

I bought laser hair removal service on Groupon and was told afterward the service that there would be a salon fee of 32.00 every time I came. They justify it because they say it covers salon fees and gratuities. I had one treatment and will not go back. Besides the fact that I have had laser hair removal before and it was a small light that penetrated the immediate area and they used something that was 1” x 2” for my face that was so bright every time it flashed that my whole face was flashed with light and shocked my eyes. There was no consultation and I doubt she even looked at my skin type. This was very unlike any of my other laser hair removal treatments from another company.

Got my hair highlighted and cut a couple days ago by Laurie and I love it! I have recieved many compliments from coworkers & friends. She is by far the best colorist the highlights even bring out my eyes more. Coming back to try the keratin treatment.

By far my FAV salon & spa!! Ive been to several salons in the past and this one is my favorite. =) I have always had a wonderful experience here. I have tried out the hair treatments, different facials, and such. And soon I will be starting my laser hair removal treatments =)

I read some of the reviews on here, & honestly I don't see where the problems that were experienced were from the spa at all. Moreso, just from Groupon. My personal experience from anything involving Groupons are hidden charges and hidden terms. But I can't blame the places for those, only Groupon itself. & as for tips, we all should be tipping off of the original price of service, not the Groupon price. Same as you would in dining.

I would highly recommend this place =) & I will most definitely be going back again and again! =)

I just had my first visit to Amber Skin. My stylist Laurie has just moved there. I love the Spa, everyone was so nice, the spa is comfortable, cozy and nicely decorated. My hair was PERFECT of course!!! I can't wait to go back and have Laurie give me a facial.

DO NOT GO HERE.... Groupon was expensive ($800 total for two laser hair places i wanted treated) and on top of that was a $40 inital "doctor's fee" <no doctors work there at all> and a mandatory $80 fee EACH SESSION to "take care of the professional who work there" It was BS and at the end of 6 sessions, not even half of the hair was removed. Complete scam and I reported them to the better business bureau.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Before I bought my Groupon for 3 large area IPL treatments I called the salon because I wanted to completely understand parameters and be sure it was meeting my needs. In my phone conversation I had been told that all I needed to do was to mention that I had spoken with the spa and that they would easily accommodate me regardless of the fact that I was not going to be following the wording of the coupon exactly. I was completely assured it would accommodate my needs so I went ahead and made the purchase.

Instead, I was presented with a woman who all but called me a liar, was rude beyond belief and insisted that in order to get what I wanted I would have to purchase additional packages. Sounds to me like the "old bait & switch".

When I arrived I was presented with a disclaimer that I found quite alarming. I had had IPL treatments in the past & was never given a statement that read that I could be burned, blistered, scabbed, scarred or very red. With 20/20 hind sight it leads me to question whether they had bad experiences which caused their insurance company to require them to have such extreme wording.

After being berated, I just wanted to get it over with and agreed to just use what I had purchased but I still wanted to know if there had been any problems since they had such an unusual disclosure statement. This "technician" then starts slamming things around and says that if I am going to be so difficult that she is the "manager" and she is going to refuse me service and she just wants me to get out of "her" shop. So I said that was fine if she wanted to give me a refund to which she sneered that they didn't owe me anything that they worked with Groupon and "good luck" getting my money back from them!! So then I asked her for her name and the owner's name. She refused to give them to me and instructed the receptionist to call the police. I had not done anything including even raising my voice. She told the police that I had threatened her at which point two other customers in the shop who had heard everything said that just wasn't true.

All in all it was a horrible experience. It's no wonder after reading most of the previous reviews that this place has to keep running coupons. They certainly can't have much repeat business or many regular clients. I strongly recommend against wasting your money on this place or setting foot into it as I can't imagine that you would be treated any better than I was.

Extremely disappointed! Bought the groupon for the IPL and the treatment (which I had done previously with a dermatologist and it was a 1 hour procedure) took 15 minutes and I was charged nearly $40 mandatory tip - for 15 minutes of service! that had no effect and the tech was 15 minutes late! What a joke! I purchased 2 groupons for this service but will not be back! Don't waste your money!

TERRIBLE PLACE- worst keratin treatment. Do not go to this place. Very poor customer service and the keratin treatment does nothing for you hair. I would highly DISCOURAGE others from going there.

Wonderful atmosphere. Very nice place! Came here with a couple girlfriends for a much needed spa day. Very relaxing experience definitely coming back :)
