Editorial Review for Sky 60 – by Cory Jane Birkett

In Short
A South Beach-style atmosphere attracts a well-groomed hipster crowd, including quite a few date duos and a hot, happening singles scene. Patrons frequent the popular rooftop terrace, where groups may reserve private cabanas for intimate, casual conversations and luscious cocktails. DJs spin everything from driving dance beats to mellow grooves on a nightly basis.

This little spot with an entrance in-between two much larger and louder clubs, does quite well. We went on a Friday night and it started off very slow; with-in an hour it was getting much busier. Clearly a little more upscale than its roof top bar competitor, Latitudes, however, the prices of martinis are clearly better than that super hot spot in Millennia. The bartenders did a great job, but felt as the crowd was growing, their regular clients would have had the upper hand when getting drinks. I do concur with the reviewer who had a concern about the lack of cushions in the private cabanas. The music that DJ chose was ideal for this location, and the volume was perfect. Great view when looking up, no street view. Highly recommended for those looking for a very nice evening in a classier Downtown bar.

Pros: Atmosphere, location, upper scale

Cons: Lack of proper cabana set-up

This place $uckS!! I'm from miami where the original Sky bar is and this is a POOR substitute for the real thing. All it is, is a few wooden cabanas (no cushions for your booty) and a small bar. The cabanas have no fans so you will sweat on a hot night, and there are no cushions so it's uncomfortable. There is another long skinny table with some stools to sit HOW LAME!!! The bartenders are unskilled and are rude. After waiting 5 min for a drink she tells me the bar is closed? At 1am? Then at 1:30am they were asking everybody to leave b/c it was closing time? How lazy can you be? Please do NOT associate this bar with SoBe where last call is 5 am and there is always a comfortable place to sit (even at the dive bars, people).

Pros: Stong Drink

Cons: No comfortable seating, poor service, overpriced dive bar
