Editorial Review. This intimate venue offers traditional French dishes and sweets like crepes or vanilla creme brulee in a warm garden setting.
nice place nice people and delicious food !!!!!!. it's gooooooooooooooodddddddddddddd and that french accent all around is so sweet !!!! THANK YOU FOR THAT GREAT MOMENT OF PURE PLEASURE !!!
Wonderful food, beautiful room, great wines - best French in Orlando!.
I've been dining at Jardins for a few years, and it's my favorite restaurant anywhere. The owner does a great job of mixing provincial and "haute cuisine". Jardin's staff is all French and friendly - there are no intimitating waiters or menus here. You can get a wonderful ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, or explore the refined and sophisticated sauces accompanying their entrees. I recommend the gazpacho soup - it's very crisp and refreshing. The spinach and cheese crepe is wonderfully smooth and complex - ask the waiter to pair a wine with it and take your time. This is a place where you want to hold the food in your mouth and experience all the flavors. The balsamic vinegar sauce in the shrimp dishes is like no other - bold but not tart, almost like a barbeque sauce. I sopped up every drop. Eric (the owner) is very discriminating about the wine list. I've never really enjoyed wine at other bars or restaurants, but the wines at Jardins are delicious. Let Eric pair wines to your meals if you're unsure.
If your like your deserts, this is the place to be. I love the chocolate mousse and the "iceberg". If you want something simple but still wonderful, then the "Dame Blanche" is for you. The have more deserts here than entrees, and you can't go wrong.
Jardins is a little hard to find because it's not directly on (or visible from) Park Ave. It's in a courtyard called Hidden Gardens. They usually have a yellow sign by the courtyard entrance. This is a good thing though, as the room and courtyard are quieter then the street and it feels more special and hidden. It's usually not crowded either, which is even better. It's a beautiful room, and a great place for a romantic dinner or classy meeting.
There are three other good French restaurants in Winter Park, but I like Jardins the best. The menu is more diverse, the food and wine better, the staff is more involved, and I feel there's more of a commitment to providing a wonderful dining experience.
