HORRIBLE SERVICE..told they DON'T need our business!!!.
We frequent Eola Wine usually about once a week, always extremely happy. This last time, we purchased a bottle of fairly inexpensive wine. The bottle had a very bad taste, far from the normal taste. When we brought this to the manager on duty’s attention, we were told that there was no possible way the wine could be bad because it was a screw top (which by the way is not true, many other factors can cause this). We were not asking for a refund or replacement, only bringing it to her attention for future customers. The manager went on to further explain that Eola Wine does not do anything "for customers who do not know what wine they like when ordering." At this time we mentioned that Eola Wine would be losing 4 long-time customers for life only to get the response “We don't need your business anyways!"
This used to be a great place to relax and enjoy a nice glass of wine but beware now. Stay away if you care about employees who value their customers. I guess instead of admitting that there could possibly be a problem they would rather blame it on our "inexperience in ordering wine and lack of knowledge." By far the worst customer service experience I have had in years!!! There are plenty of other places in Orlando to enjoy a nice glass of wine.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Congregate with urbanites and trendsetters while sipping a glass of wine in Downtown Orlando. The wine bar serves over 100 bottles of vino (red, white, sparkling and dessert wines) by the glass from a round, wooden bar or one of the many cases and racks throughout the eatery. Menu offerings include wraps, bruschetta, flatbreads and Brie for those with an appetite. The décor features framed black-and-white wine ads and French prints in a comfy ambiance.
Lovely place. This place used to be a jewelry store. We used to live down the block in 2001-2003 and every time we'd walk the dog around the corner, Jennifer would run out with what we liked to drink and say, "Come on, have a glass of wine!" So we'd stop and have a great time. (Made dog-walking a bit expensive tho). Still go there from time to time and it's still nice...especially sitting in the couch pit indoors or anywhere outside in nice weather. Very relaxing, upscale date spot. Fun to try and guess which couples got together thru online dating.
Downtown business-district hangout offers an extensive selection of international wines and beer in a comfortable setting..
In Short
Cafe-sized with a wine-cellar ambience, Eola's curved wood bar, comfortable seating and stacked-bottle decor make it the perfect after-work hangout for a few drinks, appetizers and perhaps dessert. On chilly evenings, a cozy outdoor seating area is heated to accommodate customer overflow. There are more than 200 wine choices--and more than 45 available by the glass. You can also try a flight of 2-ounce samples of four different brands before deciding what to drink.
MMMM...I love wine & cheese!.
On a weekend, this place is filled with very "trendy, beautiful" type people. I don't particuarly care for the atmosphere on busy nights...I guess Im not "in" like that...HOWEVER...take away the weekend crowd and the actual food and wine served here is fantastic! So, I like to go during the weeknights best. it's a bit more of a casual and relaxed scene. I love to try their wine tastings, too.
Overall, this is a pretty cool place. You wont find a bargain here, tho!
