View the city’s skyline from a rooftop bar. – View the city’s skyline and busy Orange Avenue from a rooftop bar in Downtown Orlando. Escape to an inconspicuous, South Beach-themed rooftop getaway, weather permitting, tucked away in the heart of Downtown Orlando’s entertainment district. The ambiance features fashionistas and metro sexual types socializing and ordering poisons ranging from martinis to mixed concoctions from a sleek, white bar. Others prefer to get cozy and romantic in cabanas with lush greenery or peer over the ledge at the crowds below while listening to thumping, techno beats before heading down the flight of stairs into the night.
The HOTTEST, SEXIEST, VIP Birthday Bash Masquerade of the Year – Friday January 9th, 2009 @ SKY60 in downtown Orlando will be the most desirable hot spot in O-town!
Not bad for Orlando – This little spot with an entrance in-between two much larger and louder clubs, does quite well. We went on a Friday night and it started off very slow; with-in an hour it was getting much busier. Clearly a little more upscale than its roof top bar competitor, Latitudes, however, the prices of martinis are clearly better than that super hot spot in Millennia. The bartenders did a great job, but felt as the crowd was growing, their regular clients would have had the upper hand when getting drinks. I do concur with the reviewer who had a concern about the lack of cushions in the private cabanas. The music that DJ chose was ideal for this location, and the volume was perfect. Great view when looking up, no street view. Highly recommended for those looking for a very nice evening in a classier Downtown bar.
Poor service, no atmosphere – This place $uckS!! I'm from miami where the original Sky bar is and this is a POOR substitute for the real thing. All it is, is a few wooden cabanas (no cushions for your booty) and a small bar. The cabanas have no fans so you will sweat on a hot night, and there are no cushions so it's uncomfortable. There is another long skinny table with some stools to sit HOW LAME!!! The bartenders are unskilled and are rude. After waiting 5 min for a drink she tells me the bar is closed? At 1am? Then at 1:30am they were asking everybody to leave b/c it was closing time? How lazy can you be? Please do NOT associate this bar with SoBe where last call is 5 am and there is always a comfortable place to sit (even at the dive bars, people).
Rooftop Bar - With a more subdued feel – Sky60 is a great bar to meet friends and to actually have a conversation without having to yell over the music. It would have been nice to look over the edge and view the traffic and people below on the street while sipping on my drink, but no luck. I love the Cabaña Seating Tents that you can sit at while talking with your friends. Summer nights are great, and the Downtown skyline is impressive, but check the weather for rain. For me Sky60 is a bar I just pass through while on my way to other bars. Sky60 is great as a bar, but Latitudes down the street is a better Rooftop Bar, and you have access to 3 bars for the price of one.
The hip Orlando elite converge at this ultra-swanky lounge on the Orange Avenue strip. – In Short
A South Beach-style atmosphere attracts a well-groomed hipster crowd, including quite a few date duos and a hot, happening singles scene. Patrons frequent the popular rooftop terrace, where groups may reserve private cabanas for intimate, casual conversations and luscious cocktails. DJs spin everything from driving dance beats to mellow grooves on a nightly basis.
