Extreme Disappointment - Better Service at McDonalds. My husband and I are huge Emeril fans, but had never eaten at one of his retaurants. Our 10th Wedding Anniversary coincided with a recent trip to Orlando, so after much online research, we decided upon Tchoup Chop and even booked a reservation at the Royal Pacific resort for additional convenience. Boy were we disappointed!

We booked the restaurant months in advance, my husband called a few weeks ahead to confirm our reservation and remind them of our special event, and we also reminded the hostess/manager when we arrived at the restaurant for our reservation. However, our waiter was horrible.

After about 10 minutes, he showed up at our table and asked if we wanted "bottled or ice water" and then had a bus boy bring it out to us. We then waited another 15 minutes and he still hadn't returned with drink menus. My husband had to grab another bus boy to ask for a drink menu -- we wanted to order champagne for our special anniversary. The waiter then came over and said he couldn't understand why we needed drink menus when we had water!!!!!

We promptly walked out of the restaurant. This was extremely disappointing given the amount of advanced planning we put into this meal - if we planned to spend a few hundred dollars on a special meal, we should have been treated much better!!!! I've received better service at McDonalds!

Move over Emeril, Richie's in the kitchen!. You simply have to try this restaurant. Just had dinner here last night after 2 weeks touring all the finest rest. in Aspen CO. Short story, there is no better restaurant - bar none. Chef Greg Richie's brought many of the exquisite Asian - Pacific fusion flavors he developed and made famous at Roy's rest, and turned it up a notch. Phenomenal apps. and a very different salad, but the kicker is the grouper entree. Perfectly cooked fish with a sweet, yet subtle flavor. Also, not normally desert people, but decided to try the home made sorbets. Incredible, light and satisfying! If you want a dinner experience that sets the bar above all the other restaurants, this is it. Service was also right on, which can sometimes be missing in Orlando.

Overrated. My husband and I decided that this was the perfect place as a Christmas present for our family of 8. Emeril?s reputation and great restaurants made it an easy pick for us. The service was very poor, even when two waitresses were helping our party. The restaurant was not full that evening and two of the items that we ask for never got to our table. The restrooms were a disaster. I don?t know how a manager can?t take care of such a small detail that makes such a big statement of a place. We left the restaurant very disappointed. The WOW effect that we were waiting for was a negative one.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!. My husband (who is a chef) and I dined here last night, and I felt compelled to write a review so other people don't make the same mistake we did. We each ordered the chef's tasting menu, which is a four-course meal for $54 apiece. The food definitely left something to be desired; we were especially disappointed in the dessert, which certainly ended our meal on a bad note: cookies and a scoop of chocolate ice cream.....not the sophisticated ending to a meal I would expect out of a restaurant that is supposedly 5 stars; more like something I would expect for a five-year old at Denny's. Even the drinks were a joke: The $11 Green Tea Mojitos were small and tasted like kool-aid. So, save yourself the $170 that we wish we had, and go eat elsewhere.
