The Scene – The Ale House is one of the state's mini-chains. All share the same basic menu, decor and commitment to tasty, far-from-fancy food. The decor is reminiscent of a sports bar, with bench-like seats and thick wooden tables. TVs are hung throughout, although the noise level remains tolerable. – – The Food – Start off with the deep-fried conch fritters, a taste of Key West. The Ale House Combo--a platter of potato skins, conch fritters, fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and sauces--feeds a crowd. The chicken nachos are a rather bland mountain of chips under a…
Not a bad sports bar

The food is average at best but you can't beat the beer selection and the prices are good. Daily beer specials and a service staff that works hard for you. good place to watch a game if you sit at a hightop.
Fingernail in Soup
by g8rb8
When we moved to Texas, I was always craving a zinger salad. So on our trip back to Florida, we went to fulfill my cravings. Well, I ordered the clam chowder soup as an appetizer. To my surprise, I almost swallowed a fingernail that was in my soup! Believe me, I was pretty disgusted by that. The manager that was on duty ended up paying for our meal, but I never had something like that happen to me. Beware of fingernails in the soup!
Best nachos in town!!!
by eadonelson
I LOVE THE ALE HOUSE !!! This is by far my favorite place to eat. When ever we have guest in town we always take them here. It is very layed back and a great place to watch the game. The food and the service have always been good. The only complaint is sometimes our appetizer arrives right before our food, which doesn't leave much time to enjoy it. I highly recommend the nachos (ask for them layered), the mushroom burger and the mahi mahi pasta. FYI the nachos are HUGE, more than enough for 2 people to eat as a meal. They also have great lunch specials that change every month and daily drink specials.
- Pros: Great food, friendly staff, and cold beer :)
- Cons: Can get very crowded on the weekends and noisy
