I would not recommend this gym and am cancelling my membership. They have no air circulation and it is warmer then most offices. When I questioned it they said temp is controlled off site and I had to call corp. I called the corp and they advised me none of their gyms have fans and they are all set at 68 degrees. I am typically cold but during a work out with elevated body temps 68 degrees is too warm.
They have no plans to change the temp nor will they be adding fans simply for circulation.
A money trap. I would not reccomend this gym to anyone. Honestly, when I initially signed up for the gym the "salesman" pressured me with tactics of over promising and cornering me about why I "wouldn't" sign up, and my reasons for traveling often and not being able to validate every single month of membership was combatted with, " I will personally help you if you have problems. you can cancel 30 days prior for the next month. If you can't make it here within 30 days don't worry, we can work something out.. here is my card. call me." So I sign up, and he told me I get a guest pass. another concern of mine. Come to find out, the guess pass can ONLY be used by someone with a FLORIDA driver's license, ?! ... Combats the purpose of making guests feel like they can have company and enjoy the gym with friends SINCE THEY PAY FOR A MEMBERSHIP. Also, I called one day after my 30 day period to put my account on hold and they told me no b/c I was too late. Also the time period has to be at least 3 months. The gym is horribly over crowded and the customer service is horrible. It was great at first but has quickly gone down hill. Plus, surprise surprise the guy who sold me the membership no longer works there, and they have a very high employee turnover rate with an apparent "overpromising" problem to clients.
Poor Customer Service, coupled with High Pressure Sales Tactics.
Overall, the equipment is new; which is nice, but the service needs work. The level of customer service has drastically diminished and the high-pressure sales tactics are unbearable.
I?ve tried to have my friends join so I can have more gym buddies to help me stay motivated, but there tactics have scared all of my friends away from LA Fitness. I sat through a couple of sales presentations, because I was hoping to work out when we were done. It was truly an unpleasant experience! I would have expected the same type of high-pressure sales when I was buying a used car, but not signing up for the local gym. Let your product sell it self? no need for bullying techniques. I?ve actually considered switching gyms because of it. Plus, I can work out with my friends at another gym.
It would be nice if they also added a way to listen to TV?s from the cardio machines. They have over 10 TV?s without subtitles or a way to hear the sound. Watching the News only does so much.
Great Gym - mediocre guest service. When I originally joined LA Fitness the gym was new and the staff was enthusiastic and pleasant. The gym is still very clean, add on weights have slowly vanished and guest service has diminished. I still like the gym over most others, but there is room for improvement.
