Love this store.
What can I say, I love used book stores. I love the smell, I love wall to wall and floor to ceiling array of books on subjects from A-Z. I love the books shelves that do not match and the strategically placed chairs and couches. I love the fact that I have to step over a dog when I walk in the store. I love the way I feel when I visit this bookstore.
I want other book lovers to enjoy it as much and patronize this store to keep it here forever or as long as Yvette wants to be here. I have never left the store without spending money and I never plan to.

Maya Books & Music is my favorite book store!. Maya Books & Music store has turned into my favorite place to stop into whenever I am in Sanford. The owner, Yvette always has a wonderful smile and a friendly word for me. I am writing an opera on a Mexican theme. I was having trouble finding books on my particular subject so I asked Yvette if she had any books or music on the subject. At first she said she couldn't think of a single book but said she would watch for any books or CDs on my subject. Well, within a week she found me a wonderful, colorful illustrated book almost new on my subject. History, art, information all in one coffee table sized book - a work of art in itself. Maya is my favorite place to stop in whenever I am in Sanford. I can browse to my heart's content and enjoy the special book store atmosphere. Oh yes, the beautiful owner should have her portrait painted in Botticelli Birth of Venus style. She is that beautiful! She also found me a CD of Phillip Glass music which is also inspiring for my opera. I give Maya Books and Music a 5 star rating. She has turned into a special friend and research assistant.

eclectic used book store with fabulous owner.
I absolutely love this book store! The owner, Yvette, is an absolute doll! She is always so welcoming, is very knowledgeable, is very interesting, and has a great edge about her. She defies the "norms" that are so evident in this town. She is savvy and completely Ab Fab!!!
This is a terrific place to chill while perusing the loads of interesting books... a great place to buy a gift for oneself or a gift for others.
