This is how a gym should operate. Clean and uncroweded. They don't oversell memberships and the classes are wonderful.

Recently, another local gym (Fitness Factory) shut it's doors prompting many current members to seek alternate gyms. We are such members and considered returning to Urban Body Fitness after having left 2 years earlier due to a plethora of issues. 2 years later and nothing has seemed to have changed (it might even be seen as worse.) While shopping for a replacement gym, our current trainer asked if we'd like to come to UBF as they also train there. We agreed and planned for our session. When we arrived, we checked in at the front desk who informed us we'd have to pay $50 to work out. (our trainer had set up a 2 week pass ahead of time with the owners.) We asked that employee to explain and assist and nothing. He was adamant about the $50. We asked for the owner and Rad appeared and began spouting off about "There is no deal for Fitness Factory Members." When we explained further, he then understood and allowed us to work out. (funny though, he would instantly blame and dismiss potential members without understanding the situation or trying to hook in another $1000 in membership fees PLUS the cut he gets from our trainer.) We proceeded with our workout on the same equipment we left 2 years earlier - and no towels! Parking is STILL an issue, the equipment in the gym is dated and the staff continues to be unhelpful. Add on this a recent call from our trainer saying that due to continued issues with the owners of Urban Body Fitness, he will no longer be training at this gym and we are left high and dry. (this is not the first time UBF cut a trainer and left clients wondering what would happen with their monies.) All together, the experience and equipment provided by this gym balanced against the costs associated make it a pass for us. There are many new gyms in and around Atlanta that offer a much better value proposition and friendlier more inclusive environment then UBF does. We suggest you explore the options.
Pros: The large selection of other gyms available nearby
Cons: Parking, Staff, Owners Attitude, Aged Equipment
