Editorial Review for Hue – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Neutral colors combined with inventive fixtures and recessed lighting give the dining room an understated, modern feel. A mix of neighborhood regulars and interested outsiders show up for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Happy-hour crowds begin the evening early with cocktails and appetizers at the bar. The menu is driven by an inventive mix of New American standards--seared tuna, wood-grilled meats and fishes--and a wide-ranging selection of small plates for sampling.

My boyfriend took me here on our first date. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is fantastic, and the service is great. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly with a good blend of spices. My boyfriend had the sirloin which was a good sized portion that was cooked exactly how he asked for it. The desserts are good to share. My only complaint is the parking. You have to park in the garage and it was raining the night we went there, so we did get rained on while walking to the restaurant. Overall great experience though, as is proven in the fact that we have been dating for 4 months now =)
Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere
Cons: Parking

I check the 10 best often to find new and exciting places to eat. However, I was really disappointed with Hue's brunch. I had heard a lot about it being such a great restaraunt, but i was left leaving thinking it was just mediocre. First off, all should know that you can only sit outside or at the bar with out a reservation. The bloody mary bar they offer is great but very small for the amount of customers they have, therefore there is always a line. I ordered the eggs benedict with crab cakes, the crab cakes were good, nothing great. My poached eggs were over cooked, the hollidase sauce was limited, I just wasn't impressed, and quite honestly it was tastless. On the upside, our bartender was fantastic and very attentive. We enjoyed her. As for the atmosphere, it was okay, very "yuppidy" but the music was far too loud we were at brunch not a club. Thats my review take it or leave it, I just wish someone would have been honest with me with what to expect and not be so into the hype.
Pros: Attentive
Cons: Food, Bloody Mary bar, Loudness, Food..
