Tips for Celebration Town Tavern

Town Tavern: The Celebration Meeting Place. I grew up in Brant Rock,Massachusetts, not far from Weymouth and Kelly's Landing, the original restaurant of the owners. The people of Celebration are glad they chose to bring a lot of New England cooking to Florida.

The sports bar is good and friendly and the huge outdoor patio, known as the Boston Garden, gives you a view of the downtown activities which includes car shows and entertainment.

But the best thing about the Tavern is the seafood. My wife usually orders the Maine lobster. I have to have my New England fried whole belly Ipswich clams, but often it goes with a platter of Boston scrod, scallops, and shrimp. They will fry, broil, or bake any fish on the menu and do it well.

Families are welcomed in this multi-room restaurant and the menu has lots of burgers and salads. Come early for there are lots of Town Tavern fans.

Good chowder, lousy service. This place has some of the best clam chowder around and an interesting orange blossom beer that's a nice change. That's all I can say good about it. The dining room is so crowded with antiquated old locals who think they own the place that youd be lucky to get a table. We usually sit in the bar area. The bartender is the RUDEST server I've ever had. He will literally stop making you drink to ogle at whatever female walks in. Literally stop in action. My husband had to actually say something to him to get him to finish pouring the martini. If you can get a table and a decent server you might enjoy some of the menu. Avoid the quahogs, disgusting clams stuffed with tons of bread crumbs and I think the chicken on a stick used to be shoe leather. The lobster roll was both on cold toast and greasy all at once.

Editorial Review. Local social hub offers a casual and relaxed vibe to savor pub grub including fish and chips, fried calamari and onion rings.
